Honestly this place is so amazing, food is delicious, I always have the chicken balls which are delicious and special fried rice, the curry sauce is the best I have ever tasted, genuinely lovely place, will never use anyone else 🙏

Once you taste the curry sauce from the Slow Boat you will never want any other Chinese curry sauce. It is the best. Unique. We've been buying it for almost 30 years! It is hot. Sometimes hotter than others. It is not open on Mondays except on Bank Holidays. Try it and see if you like it. The rest of their food is great too. We love it.

Food has never changed in the many decades it has been open. The food quality is great for a takeaway.
I’ve always eaten the same things from there: sweet and sour chicken, chips, chicken chow mein, and curry sauce. It’s always cooked to perfection.
I have tried several of the Chinese takeaways in Newport, but the quality isn’t the same in them. Although Slow Boat still doesn’t accept card payments and they still don’t deliver, but it’s definitely worth the inconvenience.
