A lovely pub with great service. The main course food was delicious with generous portions at a great price. We were disappointed with the ice cream sundaes. The ice cream had little flavour (particularly the blueberry swirl and honeycomb) meaning 3 of us ended up leaving a lot (as the portions were big). I think you need to pick another ice-cream supplier

Didn't eat. Coffees & soft drinks for a meeting. Warm enough to sit outside. Always a good spot, by the river. Roadworks atm. next to the pub. Good..cuts down the usual traffic! Nice atmosphere inside & out, on a quiet weekday afternoon.

I stayed in Newport for five days and went to the Bargemans for most of my evening meals as I found that it was the best place to eat in Newport. Delicious food, particularly Pie of The Day. You could tell that the veg was fresh and generous portions. The service was excellent and although I was on my own I felt there was a nice relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely go there again when I next come over to stay.

Lovely pub located next to the river. Lots of seating both inside and out. Orders are placed inside and despite it being fairly busy they were served in quick time. Fish finger sandwiches were delicious. Staff were very pleasant and added to the overall experience.

Great food, great drinks, lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, one of the waiters did serve me the wrong food (I will not name them for his own sake). I ordered the garlic chicken (which was very delicious), but I ended up with the barbecue chicken melt. I DO NOT enjoy gluten free food, and was very disappointed to find out that my order had been misplaced. 6/10, would like to know how the waiter misplaced my order. Thank you!

Went here while on holiday. The staff where super friendly and polite. The food was exceptional good. So good we went back the following night. Good selection of beverages. Only down side is the smokers and vapers all gather at the outside entrance making you have to walk through clouds of cigarette smoke and smelly vape clouds. On the second visit we did find a gate at the front. Defo recomend a visit here

Really nice meal and drink here the other night. Got there just after 6pm and got drinks from the bar. The pub very quickly filled with lots of people ordering food at the bar. We ordered off the app and the food arrived within 15 mins. Wonderful food, piping hot and attentive service clearing away plates etc afterwards. Very nice atmosphere and busy for a Thursday.

We visit regularly on our Boat trips, the food and drinks choices are always varied and haven't ever had cause to complain! Today we were looked after by Rhianon who was wonderful and even gave us extra strawberries ! Thankyou for a wonderful afternoon!

Lovely pub, massive inside with loads of tables but still feels proper cosy, and dog friendly too.
A quick walk from Newport town centre if you don't go the wrong way like I did!
Quite a large menu, with a few different options in the veggie section. I would love go back if I'm in the area again.
