Hong Kong Express

Ordered my fist delivery from here today and was limited to where was open on a Bank Holiday Tuesday and who would deliver to Cowes. I’m pleased I gave this place a go as the food arrived promptly and was still piping hot. I had the schezun bean curd and vegetable chow mein. Both were delicious and worked well together and I’m pleased the noodles were thin as I prefer them this way. Would definitely order from them again. Delivery driver turned up with his young son and both were very friendly and wished me a Happy New Year.

Egg fried rice is what you expect but.... Very small portion.... Chow main is cooked with number 2 noodles (ie thin noodles) but was still cooked ok, not soggy. Curry sauce was ok but was missing something and could have been slightly hotter. A lot Better than most. The Hong Kong special was meant to be chillie garlic. You can just taste the garlic slightly but no chilli heat to it.. bit very nice though. . Nice and crispy veg in all the above not under cooked. Meat I would score 9 out of 10. That's a good score for me!. Probably one of the nicest meat from a Chinese takeaway I've had around the UK. So well done there's Hong Kong house! The beef is very good. I would definitely order again. The only reason I gave 4 stars is it could have been better curry sauce and a little less SMG in the fried rice and bigger portion. See you again soon

Very good covid arrangements. Spacious dining area with plenty of space between tables. Staff masked. Plenty of sanitiser. This was first meal out a few weeks ago, since first lockdown. Been back twice since as comfortable in the surroundings. Food is good and quickly served. Friendly welcome. Happy to recommend. M.A.R.

Food is good but can be a little bland - that said it tastes like they use less MSG than other places which is good if, like me, you can struggle to sleep after MSG. Takeaway food was always prepared quickly and the staff were friendly. Eating in and, particularly drinking there, can work out expensive though.

Arrive early for our reservations on a very busy night with a large number of guests. We was accommodate very quickly despite being busy. Very nice staff and very fast service. Food was great and super tasty and we was served very fast even it was busy. Portions was very large for each dish everyone orders and super tasty. Looking forward to coming back.

I visited on a weekday evening for dinner and ordered the vegetarian spring rolls (good) and the seasonal vegetables with rice (excellent! Vegetables still with a bit of crunch in a light, tasty sauce) and would recommend this to others. The green tea was proper loose leaf in a teapot and the food was tasty, generous portions and very reasonably priced. The staff were friendly, the restaurant warm and clean. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Newport. I believe that dim sum are on the evening menu but didn't try it when I was there.
