We reserved a table using Google which was really simple and easy and there wasn't any issues with this and our table was ready when we got there.
Upon arrival a staff member welcomed us straight away and once our name was given, they took us to our table.
A few minutes after sitting down, we were offered drinks and shortly after was ready to make our food order.
Food service was quick, and staff were very accomodating, food was warm, full of taste and was very fresh.
We couldn't finish our food so was offered to have the staff plate it up to go for us which was great.
This wasn't our first visit, but will definitely be returning again.
Thank you to the team for everything.

Trust me, when I say.
This is the best curry I have ever tasted... and I'm Indian!
Just go and experience it for yourself.
You will not be sorry.

I hosted my wedding reception at the Cumin last week. From start to finish, Sunny and his team were fantastic. Sunny especially helped my wife and I plan seating arrangements, the timing of each course as well as the logistics of the entire operation. The food and the service on the day were impeccable. I cannot thank Sunny and the staff at the restaurant enough for their contribution to making the occasion run smoothly and making it such an enjoyable one for us. We will definitely be back! š

Stumbled across this place whilst working away. Didn't look much from the outside but the smells coming from inside were amazing.
Anyway, hands down this is best curry I have ever had! It was amazing. A million miles away from the normal hot flavourless fair you get in a standard curry house. The manager, Sammy recommended three dishes off the specials page ( it's a small menu which is always a good sign).
I've never had such a flavourful curry in my life. Simply delicious. Not hot but full of flavour.
Next time in Nottingham I'll definitely be returning.
Food and service 5 star ā.

Booked online. Turned up, and they didn't have our booking, so initially they wouldn't give us a table. However, with some perseverance, we got a table. Glad we persisted as the food and service were excellent.
We will return when next in Nottingham.

Just realised they overcharged me for a beer we never had on looking at the bill photo below. Everything else was great and food very nicely presented. Really enjoyed the treasure at the end.

Was given incredible service, and had some of the best dishes I've had, and was just out on a whim. Recommendations for dished were catered right to your tastes.

We had a lovely meal at The Cumin Restaurant this evening. We were a group of four and we all enjoyed our food, including Jalfrezi and a vegan main. The garlic naan was especially delicious. The service was attentive but not intrusive. We will definitely visit again in the future!!

We had the downstairs for a private event. The staff were attentive and helpful, service was excellent and Sunny had arranged things to perfection before and during our event.
Food was tasty and good portions for our group on the set menu which the team adapted slightly for our needs.
A great time was had by all and the staff also took care to be mindful for times where we wanted our own space for our meeting.
Definitely be using the venue again in the future.

Fantastic restaurant with with mesmerizing ambience.
The place is located in the heart of the city and serves authentic Punjabi food
The dishes I tried here:
1)Methi Murg: Medium spicy gravy with strong flavour of kasuri methi with juicy chicken chunks.
2) Chicken Biryani: This was proper layered dum biryani, with flavourful and fluffy rice. The rice was super moist and flavorful with marinated chicken pieces.
The food went good with the super, creamy and rich mango lassi.
The service was excellent and beyond perfect with a fast and accurate serving.

It was a quiet Tuesday, but this place is lovely
Solo dining and the restaurant was just near my hotel and had a vegan menu so the perfect choice.
Indian food is by its nature often vegetarian, but itās good to see a restaurant offering a full vegan menu
Okra fries and dip for starter
Tava Aloo Raviya for main with chips and chapatis
The bill came to around Ā£26 including a service charge, which is great value
Good choice and would eat here again if on the

Great Gluten-free and Vegan options and very accommodations for those with allergies and dietary requirements with amazing food.
Stumbled across this place by accident and decided to eat here and was blown away by the food. With very friendly staff

Superb as always. Went back last night for first time in years - thanks fatherhood. They always remember your face and have a chat. The food is sublime as always. Miles ahead of anyone else on Maid Marion Way.

In Nottingham you are spoilt for choice on good Indian restaurants, Cumin is no exception. Good food and nice and friendly service. The wine list is excellent and they even offer non alcoholic Indian beer. A good choice if you on that end of the city centre.
My Food Hunt
Cumin, or the Cumin Indian Restaurant to giveĀ theĀ place its full name is located on Maid Marian Way. I have heard a lot of good things about this place, and so when it came to finding somewhere for a family birthday celebration this place was right up on the topĀ of the list. It seems that almost all of the restaurants on thisĀ City Centre streetĀ have won or been nominated forĀ awards and the Cumin isĀ no exception. Check out their website to see who and whom has favoured them in the past. They say that the Cumin specialises in Punjabi cuisine with an East African twist (I read that after we dined there) but we were to stick with some of your old favourites and classical options. So what did we eat? We selected two main dishes at the Cumin to share, one with chicken, and one with lamb. So Chicken first Murg Malabari As I saidĀ the first one was the Murg Malabari which was described as āTender chicken pieces, tempered with mustard and curry leaves, delicately spiced, cooked in coconut masalaā. This was flagged on the menu with two red chillies, which I think is kind of spicy but not really hot spicy. The name of the dish more or less gives up the origin of this recipe which derives from Malabar island in the coastal region of northern Kerela. The dishes from that region often feature coconut and this dish is no exception. The key flavours come from the curry leaves which I have used a lot in my own cooking, I use them often in one ofĀ Jamie Oliverās recipes (his everyday curry sauce) and they have a distinct aroma which fills the house for days. It is kind of hard to describe the flavour and mouth feel of the dish but I will try.Ā It is creamy from the coconut and then a little bitter from the curry leaf and the mustard seeds also add a darker taste. This sauce was lovely and creamy with a subtle flavour that was somewhere between smoky and slightly bitter (in a good way) and it hadĀ a nice level of spicing. After we had finished the dish we added the leftover sauce to the l

After reading the two dividing comments on here i was a little apprehensive, but i needn't have been. The service, food and ambiance was excellent.
I've given this restaurant five stars as i honestly couldn't fault it. (i even asked if we (just two of us) could be seated side by side and this was no trouble)
Cumin has succeeded in becoming THE Indian restaurant in Nottingham in my opinion.

I have been traveling to Nottingham for many years, Cumin is my favorite restaurant. The staff is always friendly and the service is excellent. I went again the other night and my wife and I had an excellent meal. I have tried many of the starters as well as the mains. One of my favorite starters is the Haryali Chicken Tikka. One of my favorite mains is the Lamb Rogan Josh. I also like the keema naan. They have seating upstairs that provides additional room as it does get busy. I cannot wait till I am able to go back again!

A quaint small location with fantastic food. HANDS DOWN THE BEST SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD IN NOTTINGHAM. The owner was extremely personal and attentive to our every need, will undoubtedly go back many times over.

Very nice upscale Indian. Service was excellent and the food is very good. The menu could use a few more Mains, but other than that I highly recommend.
Roz W.
A lovely small Indian restaurant, with extra seating upstairs. Brilliant service, the staff went out of their way to ensure all our needs were met and there were no long waits between ordering & food arriving and between starters & mains even though we were a table of 7. The only reason it doesn't get the full 5 stars is because I felt the menu was a little limited and a lot of the dishes looked very similar. I am sure, however, had I requested something specific the kitchen would have produced it for me. Definitely a restaurant to try out in Nottingham, although I would recommend booking to avoid disappointment.

Earlier poster has clearly not been here lately. A business peer recommended this place and I'm glad she did. Ask the chef what to order. He chose a lamb dish for me. Fantastic. Great service and delicious wine. Would come back if I make it back to Nottingham.

Overall experience was simply fantastic. Because of obvious reasons, friendly service, unique tasty food! Everything went well from the time we came in till the end when we promised to come back, and I simply can't wait to! I guess, the highlight was the fact that the explained everything.
Would surely recommend!

Been twice on a Monday night now. Great tasting vegetarian food, flavours and subtle spices.

The attitude of the manager & the poor choice & quality of the vegetarian food left a lot to be desired.
Avoid at all costs!

The Cumin is my favourite restaurant in Nottingham, and I love the food that they do, it tastes amazing! The lunchtime menu is also great!
There is plenty of options to choose from, and you can always look at the menu online if you're not sure there would be something there for you.
I would knock a star off because the food has been a bit slow on a couple of occassions, but the atmosphere is lovely and relaxing and when I got the food it tasted so good it was worth the wait!

One of the best Indian restaurants in town. The food is delicious and always freshly prepared. There's a good vegetarian range and a good selection of wine and beers. The decor is elegant and in keeping with Cumin's challenge to the upmarket Indian dining offered by its competitors (Mem Saab and others) on Maid Marian Way. However, Cumin has the edge though in relaxed dining. The service is fantastic and the staff and owners are friendly and helpful. How Sunny remembers everyone (and what they ordered on the previous visit) is beyond me.
