Excellent modestly priced French bistro offering a good selection for their weekday dinner 9.95/12.95/15.95 for 1/2/3 course menu. Most of what we had over two visits has been very good, standouts being moules mariniere and roast pork belly. One negative - I should have avoided the coq au vin given it featured chicken breast and the breast was indeed very tough and dry, a shame given the dish otherwise nailed it. Have not needed to go beyond the house red for a decent drink.
It was as good as I'd remembered, if not better. The decor is quaint, all the waiters we were served by seemed to have just stepped out of France...For my main course I had a pan fried Hake with Atlantic prawns and a white wine sauce. It was delicious! The fish was so meaty and perfectly cooked Poached salmon with a red wine sauce and crushed peas
Absolutely love this place. Have been a few times and the food is always good. Adventurous and tasty, big portion sizes, varying menu that’s changed pretty often, and deals on 2 courses that make it super worth the money! The setting is very luxury and there’s always a good vibe, the staff are great, and wine is good value too! One of the best in Nottingham for good value for money, as a student, it was great for affordable but fancy celebrations.
I got gifted a groupon voucher for the place for my birthday so me and my partner went for food. Staff were friendly and super helpful. We weren’t sure what was included for the deal but they explained it to us. Food was lovely, never had french cuisine properly before but it was nice to try something new. I had duck cakes as a starter, lamb with gnocchi for main and they brought out a special surprise with my baileys bread and butter pudding. Place was really easy to find using google maps too and a short walk from the train station.
Overall very nice, we came with the Groupon and the servers are very polite and attentive. Ambiance is very pleasant
Food came out quite fast, the salmon pate was nice and the other duck starter was okay. Very large portions for mains, which were good
Pudding could have been a bit better, the sable tart was a little tasteless
Booked a table for 10, for their Christmas menu, which we told them we wanted.
Arrived, and was told that the Christmas menu doesn't start for a week.
Very bad start to a family Christmas meal.
Then they got our drinks wrong, bought sparkling water instead of still, and forgot the white wine.
Excellent starters, main courses and desserts. Good-sized helpings and delicious.
Very good service.
Would certainly come again.
Note: this was a Groupon voucher dinner.
Apart from being charged ~ 5 gbp on top of the Groupon voucher at the end of dinner, everything was perfect. The food was great, the experience was wonderful, the staff were absolutely lovey. The place and music was beautiful, felt like I was in France.
Please don’t miss this restaurant if you are ever in Nottingham. My brother took my wife and I to lunch and the food and service was fantastic. Our server Selina and the wine waitress Shy are the nicest people you could ever meet. My brother loved the Lyonnaise soup followed by rump steak with Stilton sauce and cheese platter for desert. My wife enjoyed the brie fondue followed by Chicken supreme and profiteroles for desert. I had the same starter as my wife followed by duck and also profiteroles for desert. Everything was delicious, good portions and beautifully presented. House red, Michel Servin complimented everything. My wife also had a glass of white. Cappuccinos all round complimented desert. The ambiance is lovely and the view of King Street from above enchanting. Exceptional restaurant in every way. Staircase to enter from exchange walk is easy but is a few steps and no elevator.
It’s located very close to Victoria center at Kings Walk. It’s in a beautiful historical building so you have different sitting area. We were seated next to the window and the service staff lead by Francis and Celine is really nice and friendly! The food is freshly prepared, well presented and delicious!
Only down side is the French fries… would prefer them using hand cut 🥔 would be perfect.
Overall it’s really lovely to enjoy the hospitality of dining out.
They offer 1,2 & 3 courses at very reasonable price and well worth to give it a try if you around town center!
Had a really great meal here for my birthday. Everyone was happy with their food, my steak was cooked perfectly. Great wines too. The waiting staff were attentive and they even sent over a glass of prosecco as a present. Highly recommend! The one thing I would say is that they could do with a bit of background music for some ambience. Otherwise, can't fault it!
Exquisite food really enjoyed my 3 course belated 30th meal with my lovely friend. Highly recommend
