There are only a few places in my life that has completely taken me by surprise, and Alchemilla is one of the them. From the warm and welcoming staff, the amazing menu, to the wines, I can't thank them enough for putting together a memory that my husband and I will have for years. If you can afford it, do it. The restaurant is clean and the service is above and beyond, each willing to tell history and stories. Even asked the staff to sign my copy of the menu. Absolutely an amazing experience. Hopefully one day we can return!

Third time here and it is easily one of the best restaurants in the whole midlands. Alex is a genius in the kitchen, with inspiration from Japanese flavours and Uber modern cooking techniques and beautiful plates, the whole experience is worthy of the star, but beyond that, it’s a food experience that if it was in London, it would be easily £250 per head. So at £90 for 5 courses (which is easily 11-12 servings) I actually think it’s also fantastic value for some of the best food in the country.

This place doesn't need a fat secondary school cookery teacher to tell it how good it is, but regardless I'm doing it anyway.
Booked in for the eight course taster with matching wine EVERYTHING was tremendous. The sourdough from an 11 year old starter, the three unexpected starting canapés, that awesome smoked scallop soup and then the advertised dishes. The scallop with the English sparkling wine was superb. The Armenian red with the pigeon was near perfection.
Loved the move away from wine at the end as desserts came with a sake, then a Madeira. Bloody incredible.
Service was top notch, with a sommelier that my dining partner fell in love with. Spectacular...

Sensational menu! The staff was lovely and very knowledgeable about each dish and wine. The whole experience took about 3.5 hours. Alex is a phenomenal chef!

One of Nottingham's finest restaurants.
There's a reason why this restaurant has a Michelin star.
They have a seasonal changing menu.
All served in a beautiful Victorian carriage house with red brick vaulted arches.
We had their 5 course menu £95.
Now, available every service.
Some restaurants would class it as 11 courses with all the snacks and bread.
We're not going to list what we had.
Just let the pics do the talking.
We love Alex Bond, and his team are amazing.
The food and service were spot on as usual.

It was a fantastic meal in wonderful surroundings. Each of the 10 courses of the taster menu came with a different and unique flavour with its own focus on what the star of that dish was. The service was great, striking the balance perfectly between professionalism and warmth whilst still not being afraid to give a little of their own personalities. Our visit was all that we hoped it would be. We had a fantastic few hours here and couldn't recommend Alchemilla enough.
Thank you to all who made our night one to remember.

We enjoyed a 7 course taster menu with wine pairings. One word would be spectacular. An intimate environment, attentive service and the food was interesting and perfectly executed. It challenges your pallet in a positive way.
As said earlier, spectacular.

Started very strong. Incredible food. But then slowly the items became less punchy. Tried too hard and lacked what the formers held. But the first few dishes, including the venison were phenomenal. Didn’t like the seaweed dishes overly. The lobster was incredible. Will edit this review shortly.
Amazing setting. Great staff. Amazing host.
Waiting was ever slightly slow.
Great alcohol menu.
Ten course is a must. I would recommend wine pairing but would probably be too much for ten courses.
Overall very expensive for a one star. Almost the same price as a london 2 or 3. Wouldn’t compare exactly to a one star further north.

This is simply one of the best restaurants around - the food is inventive and sublime, really well judged as is the wine flight. Unassuming setting, it is somewhere to come back to frequently. There were no weak dishes and the invention and surprise carried on right to the end. Highly recommended

A fabulous culinary treat. Choice of 7 or 10 course tasting menu which was very well thought through. Strong emphasise on reducing waste but not losing the focus on flavour. Staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Great drinks menu with some really unique options and it was brilliant to have a range of interesting and unique non-alcoholic options too. A fabulously relaxed evening. Definitely worth a visit.

Exquisite flavours, both with the meat and vegetarian dishes (3 meat eaters and 1 veggie). We had the 7 course tasting menu, with at least 5 “bites”/canapés. The wine pairings were excellent, and really added to the flavours and experience. A host of knowledgeable staff and sommeliers who offered service. It’s not cheap but it is absolutely worth it.

It's not everyday you celebrate your ten year anniversary, so wanting to do something special, I booked the award winning Alchemilla restaurant in Nottingham.
Due to an URGENT last minute change, they were able to kindly move our booking by a few days, despite being against their policy. We arrived early for roof top drinks, which is like a little slice of privacy on a usually busy street.
We went for 7 courses as we'd done 10 previously, and it's simply food on another level. Each bite is carefully created to give you an amazing mix of flavours, textures and is quite simply, an experience.
For what can only be described as perfection, visit Alchemilla in Nottingham.

An amazing restaurant from every aspect. The friendly service from entering, drinks in the garden and in the restaurant. The experience is so worth a visit and we will definitely be visiting again! Amazing food in an amazing setting. Its lovely to see Alex on the pass when you enter and leave. The care from him and his staff to make your evening perfect is clear to see. Thank you!

A belated anniversary meal... and the venue, food and service made all the waiting worth while... stunning amazing evening brilliant. Had a superb meal at Alchemilla with parents who had not visited since just as it was opening. They were blown away by how much it had improved. We had the five course meal with lots of tasty amuses bouches etc. I told Alex how much my Mum was enjoying the fab homemade bread. My Dad found his English sparkling wine a little sweet. The wait staff overheard and insisted on changing it to a drier version at no extra cost. After our two desserts we couldn't even fit in a coffee! Thank you Alex Bond for the take home present. It made my Mum's day! ( She shared it with us too) Yum. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. The customer experience is second to none! Staff are sooo well trained and the food is sublime.

Dining here was a stunning experience from start to finish. Uniquely characterful venue that has been lovingly converted (ask to see their photo book) and now sports an open kitchen and series of seating areas under the old brick arches, plenty of natural light from above, and a tranquil roof garden for drinks. Staff were incredibly friendly yet professional throughout. Alchemilla offer a few different sizes of tasting menu; we went for the full 10 plus cheese plus pairings, which took a pretty magical four hours or so to tackle. Every course was different, creative and deliciously memorable. Well worth it, and would go back again in a heartbeat.

All round stunning, the setting is beautiful and unusual, the food was incredible, wine pairing is well worth having a go and the selection was delicious, we went for the 10 courses (don’t have photos of them all) and left feeling very satisfied.
The staff were great and the attention to detail impeccable, we were even given a free glass of wine for a delay in our main meat course which was less than 5 minutes.
Honestly can’t recommend enough 😃
