Junkyard and Kilpins share the front courtyard and rear seating area, but are totally different bars. Junkyard is a craft beers bar whilst Kilpins is a more traditional pub selling cask beers plus an excellent selection of continental beers. The food choice is small plate, tapas style and burgers. Well worth a visit to both.

Visited on a Friday evening for beers and small plates. Fantastic range of beers, ales, IPAs (of course) but the quality of the food was what made me write this review. Creative, tasty and with a wide selection of fresh ingredients we absolutely enjoyed every dish we ordered. Fun atmosphere with a young crowd and the staff were very friendly and efficient.

Great beer today. A welcoming place, lovely staff. It's so good to see them open again.

Update: stopped for a quick bite and a beer. We had 3 starters, the lamb kofta, artichoke and halloumi. All were delicious and what trio of food, I recommend trying all three together. I have upped the star rating to 5 now, as the food was delicious and the staff were great.
Previous review: Nice spot. We had lovely vegetarian food, and there was a nice looking meaty options to. Always a great selection of beers, so plan plenty of time to try them all. I would definetely come back here.

An interesting and tucked away hidden gem in the centre of Nottingham, in the Lace Market serving beers of the craft type and wines too.
The interior is quite quirky, cool pictures on the wall, a drinks tray made from a skateboard deck.
There is plenty of seating (important for me, since I have reached the age when I only go out if I can sit down) and I think I saw a separate room as well.

What can you say about this place, from the leader nigel, to boss terina, staff are so incredible, specially Julio lucy and Amy whose customer service is incredible amazing choice of beers in junkyard, with it's sister next door being a more European, Belgium bar, if you need different beers this is the one

Visit was Pre-COVID. This place was highly recommended by the barman at the Barley Twist. It didn't disappoint. Everything was spot on. The beer selection, the friendly staff and the clean toilets. We spent just over 2 hours here relaxing and me sampling all the great craft beers. Sam enjoyed her Gin & tonics. Highly recommend and on the to list when back in Nottingham.

Absolutely awesome craft beer bar, a must visit if you like craft.
Huge range of keg beer, seriously impressive.
A superb selection of cans and bottles is available to take out including limited releases and fairly hard to find beers.
Nice, fairly basic but clean bright and modern decor with a small but perfectly fine outside area.
The food is also really good we had pizza, mac & cheese balls and halloumi fries, it was all well made and good quality.
Friendly staff who are genuinely helpful, kind of tucked away but well worth a visit.

World class beer selection. The food was very high quality and was thoroughly enjoyed. Staff knowledgeable and friendly.
Would definitely recommend.

Junkyard is a bar and restaurant that ticks all the cool boxes in Nottingham. With its modern feel, long bar, distressed wooden tables, neon signs, craft beers and grazing menu, it felt like the place to be on a Saturday night in the city. Junkyard Restaurant, Nottingham. After devouring two big meals over the past 24 hours, it was a welcome relief to be able to order a few small dishes to share.

Despite all signals pointing to this being a cash in on as much trendy nonsense as possible, you can definitely consider me pleasantly surprised. It turns out I can forgive a total lack of originality (after all, "there's nothing new under the sun") for well cooked, fairly priced and quickly served food in a bar where I can get a good beer and I had a genuinely enjoyable if not life-changing lunch in Junkyard and whilst not worth a special trip, I would definitely go back

Junkyard Nottingham sits unobtrusively at the top of Bridlesmith Walk, on the cusp of the Lace Market just yards from the busy road that acts as a boundary between the centre and the Lace Market district. It is not more than 100yds from the Lace Market Tram stop and only really 5-10 minutes walk from the Old Market Square. They describe themselves as ‘a neighbourhood café bar’ combining ‘the laid back feel of a North California bar and eatery with a specialist craft beer shop jammed full of bottles and cans of craft beers for drinking in or taking home.’ Now I have no significant experience of a local Californian bar, but in Chicago and in some parts of New York, I am adept in the workings of the neighbourhood bar, or perhaps it is more honest to say that I am a regular paid up member of the bar stool ( translate I have a local and they know my name and what beer I like ). I guess what I am saying is that I like the way that they talked on the website at Junkyard, I wanted to find out if it was just talk? I like a good ‘ neighbourhood bar’ So ‘Purely for research'; “ cough, splutter, ahem” and in the need of a cool refreshing drink, I walked in on a Friday night (right in the middle of the peak moments around 8pm), and then again on a Sunday afternoon (around 1pm) just as the bar people world is starting to wake up, to fully road test this place. To be honest, I had already ‘clocked’ the place some weeks earlier and was just waiting for my moment to pounce on a “myfoodhunt” session, so all that stuff I just wrote is my personal justification for heading out with my mates somewhere new for a beer (works for me). Beer on Tap On the Sunday lunchtime visit we sat up at the bar right opposite the chalkboard beer list and the taps dispensing all of those Beers. On the Friday night it was a table by the window. The main thing to note was that we had a seat. I felt comfortable and at ease and kind of wanted to stay, it was as I hinted a real US neighbourhood bar vibe. I
