Great team behind the bar - Doug and Charlie the landlord/lady really friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable about the beers - as are all the staff. They are really keen to promote local beers. Good choice of wines too and very dog friendly. Our dog loves it and the welcome she always receives.Friendly atmosphere easy parking and 2 min from the Basford tram stop - and the Thai food is consistently fabulous- this has been our local for the last 11 years and The food I enjoyed then is still what I enjoy now. Highly recommend and very reasonably priced - both food and bar - lunch is particularly reasonable at £5.50 for most dishes including rice. I really like a particular fish dish that is only served in the evenings - this is cooked at anytime for me at lunch - so I would anticipate perhaps that all alterations would be very easily catered for. NIght time/ bankholidays/ saturdays worth booking - but well worth sitting and waiting - enjoy
THe Fox and Crown is a fantastic pub! Real Ales a plenty! With fabulous Thai Food! Warm friendly staff. Definitely one if not the best pub in Nottingham.
Absolutely love this pub. The staff are lovely and friendly. Their service is second to none.
The regulars are warm and welcoming. I've made a few great pals.
Having recently opened up their kitchen, I've sampled the breaded Brie wedges, delicious 😋.
I'm not particularly a burger fan, however yesterday the special was lamb burger, brioche bun, homemade coleslaw, mint yoghurt and fries. I love the quirkiness of the cardboard container it's all presented in.
The lamb burger was thick and juicy. Cooked to perfection, stunningly mouth watering. Very tasty. Absolutely loved the homemade coleslaw and I had the pleasure of sharing tips with the chef.
Overall an amazing Saturday afternoon and evening. I'll definitely be working my way through their menu.
Visiting my sister at uni and was recommended this place. Didn’t disappoint. Fantastic food menu, really good huge selection of locally brewed beers, Nene Valley, Black Iris, Salt Brewery etc, vibe was so lovely. Fab place!
Stayed in the area overnight to watch the mighty hatters the following day at the city ground, shame we couldn't take the 3 points but this place made the whole journey even better. Literally 4 mins to the tram stop into the city. Excellent selection of food, The game burgers are excellent, real surprising selection!! I went for the buffalo, but theres wagyu, kangaroo, wild boar and more to choose from. Really impressive menu. The pub itself is really chilled, made to feel welcome straight away (didnt wear my Luton Shirt just in case!!) Great selection of beers and really nice atmosphere. Fingers crossed we stay up this season so i can come back next year! If you're local, you've got a real gem on your hands!!
We travelled up on the train from Luton for the game last week with plenty of time to spare so asked a few locals for a good burger spot, was pointed in the direction of the fox and crown with rumours of a wagyu burger, which for us folk in humble Luton is unheard of. We hopped on the tram and it did not dissapoint! A short walk from the tram stop to divulge in a burger juicier than Adebayos 92nd minute equaliser.
Really wish we had quality like this local to us down south!
The chef at the fox and crown is my second favourite person in Nottingham behind joe worrall for gifting us a point!
Keep up the great work and if we’re back in the premier league next season you will see us again!
As an added bonus they had Blue Moon which is my favourite drop! Perfect start to a great day in Nottingham!
Thai kitchen within a pub. We love eating here. Great Thai food, good tap beer selections. Great prices. We enjoyed Thai Fries, Chicken Panang, Pad Thai.
Beautiful burgers! Mates tried the whole menu and they're all bangin'
Had the Ostrich burger and its perfect!
The burgers are to die for if you haven't eaten yet from the Fox and Crown then I suggest that you wait no longer Adam has done wonders and continues to go from strength to strength.
Hi Richard
I called in on Saturday. I just had a diet coke but as you know I know a good pint and saw many around me. The beer sticking to the glass as it was being drunk. Also the beer started off with a lovely
Creamy head. Another sign of a great pint. A lovely tidy
clean pub and a great brewery at the back. The service was good.I will be back.
Not many pubs left open in Basford but this important long standing boozer maintains high standards. Good ales, well run and welcoming. Quality.
This is an excellent pub, just like they used to be, with no frills. Beer was superb, staff friendly too. A short walk from Basford Tram Stop. Sells the Shipstones Beer Range at very reasonable prices.
