Will definitely come back, ample free parking , beautiful old building with cosy clean rooms, modern bathrooms, high quality tea and coffee in rooms , great bar and coal fire etc friendly staff friendly cat and fantastic location absolutely loved it

What a lovely pub and a great meal. Staff were very accommodating and the pub was very atmospheric. We read it’s advisable to book, so we did, and I would pass this advice on- was really busy especially for a Monday night which only goes to show how popular it is.

Lovely place. Spotless clean. Lots of asmosphere. Lovely friendly staff who made us welcome & couldn't do enough for us. The food was really beautiful and plentyful tho we only had breakfast. Our room was so sweet and the bed comfortable. Honestly can't say enough good things and I want to go back one day.

Service is always A1 here. I come with a fussy family but we are always happy with our meals.
I will say the value for money depends on what you appreciate from a meal out. For me I would say it's worth the price.

Just had the best lunch for a long time. The Venison was cooked perfectly, moist, tender and delightfully pink😋😋😋. Also it was a pleasure to be served by exceptionally friendly and impeccably dressed staff. A real gem of a pub👍👍👍👍👍

Ordered a cream tea and the scones were very good. The server forgot the tea though and we had to ask for it after eating the scones. Service is poor. A but pricey for a cream tea but beautiful beer garden at the back. Recommended if passing through.

Went here twice in three days for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it ! Would have gone again if we weren’t leaving. Try this fab cosy pub, you won’t be disappointed .
