I really enjoyed my recent visit to Browns! The food was fantastic, well presented and delicious. We had a very friendly and attentive waiter Alberto; many thanks to him for making our visit comfortable. Cocktails were smooth and moreish. The restaurant was quiet when I arrived but soon filled out and the atmosphere was very relaxing, not too loud. The room was tastefully decorated and light which made for a pleasant experience. I’d like to go back and try out more of the menu!
A chain Brasserie with clean, modern decor, and stellar service. I would especially like to commend the manager who 1) compensated our main course after a mistake was done and 2) quickly remedied the situation when our waiter was making a clear mistake.
I highly recommend their 2/3-course meal set, and ordering their linguine dish. The cost of the meal set coupled with the quality of the linguine makes this place well-worth the visit.
I had the most brilliant meal here! The way they made chicken breast taste like chicken thigh is inspirational 🤯 The brownie in particular is amazing
highlight of our experience was definitely our lovely server ilyas! he was incredibly attentive to our dietary requirements and was overall just so thoughtful. the ambience in the restaurant was great.
as for the food, the starters were absolutely delicious - recommend the fig salad! most of us ordered the roast, which wasn't phenomenal but still delicious. the beef was really tender and juicy and filllling for sure.
It is the first time in the UK we had such an excellent special treament, it was remarkable. The manager Ilyas went above ane beyond for us, he received us with a warm welcome and made sure we sit where we would be comfortable. He checked on us multiple times, was super friendy and helped us choose and customize our meals. I recommend their prawns starter and serloin steak, the desserts were so tasty. It is a really nice, well decorated and presentable restaurant which is not crowded neither noisy. Thank you Ilyas for making our Birthday dinner so special and comfortable. Amina
Great evening. A bit of nostalgia returning to Oxford after 20 years since studying at Wycliffe Hall. Brown's was a favourite then and if still is today. Food was good and the service excellent. Good to be back.
I happened upon this place for dinner. Although they were full and understaffed my server was able to get me into her section since it was just me. I must give the best compliments to Ingrid. From the moment she saw me, she was so warm, pleasant, genuine, welcoming and her smile was contagious. Dinner was delicious (I had the Shepherds Pie) and I was very comfortable, content and grateful. I am likely to return to this restaurant. Thank you for the exceptional service Ingrid.
A fantastic atmosphere and very clever business idea serving breakfast through to cocktails! Wheelchair accessible building with a slightly accessible toilet.
The atmosphere and decor of the place is second to none. The food is at its best mediocre but the menu not so much. I didn't try the lobster but I like the idea that it exists. You can equally have a nice afternoon tea here as you can a nosh up dinner. In the evening the place becomes busy with a club bar type feeling. The atmosphere is fantastic with modern music and romantic overtones. The service is also top notch. It's a place to take a nice date.
Could improve in terms of accessibility and won't be neurodivergent friendly late at night.
The evening was perfect, my mum and I had the Fish pie and the Browns burger - would highly recommend both. We had Aurelia as our waitress, she was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. Definitely worth a visit if in Oxford. Great food for an affordable price.
I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Brown’s Oxford! The food was beyond delicious, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was simply amazing. It’s rare to find a place where everything comes together so perfectly. I can’t wait to return for another memorable dining experience. A solid 5 stars!
