Dropped in here on our journey from Penzance to torquay because we were starving and they did not dissapoint.. we had two really god 1/2 lb cheeseburgers and they were soooo good.. proper chips too, none of that frozen malarkey and a jumbo sausage for the dog. Great prices, really friendly, will probably drop in again should we come by this way

We moved here just over a year ago from Buckinghamshire. I loved my kebabs, have tried several around Torbay, and they’re good, but I would say the Happy Plaice does the best doner and mixed kebab I’ve had since being here. Their dinner meat is just lamb. Many doner stacks are now mixed meats, unfortunately for me, if any beef in them will make me unwell, so I have to have 100% lamb in the doner meat. They now have on their menu lamb Shish kebabs too, I’ve not tried them yet, normally have a chicken Shish or a mixed which is superb .

FAIR. The chips and the fish were nice and fresh. The service was very good. They had a 5 star hygine rateing and the place did look clean. However! Being drawn in by "Scallops" on the menu and being near the biggest fish market in the south of the UK ( Brixham); I thought I was in luck. Sadly no. There scallops were battered slices of potato, which tasted like they were from a 5-year-old freezer. They were on the verge of edible and very disappointing. I would recommend the fish and chips, I would go back but Don't order their interpretation of Scallops ; Gross!
