We were fortunate to be given a large room (10) with sea view. The bed was rather soft. The room a bit dated but fine apart from that. V good cooked breakfast choice for £12.50 or good continental for £7.50. (Although the Earl Grey tea was undrinkable.) Car park free for guests. Staff pleasant and helpful. Nice smoke free terrace overlooking sea. Beach pebbles. Need rubber shoes for swimming but avoid at low tide as lots of hidden rocks makes it dangerous.

A lovely Sunday lunch at the white horse. Lovely and bright, with a modern feel but with subtle hints of the past. A lovely map on the wall of the old coach route from London to Shoreham on sea. Really swift & efficient service, thank you for looking after us so well. Only slight disappointment were the condition of the ladies toilets which I needed to report to staff behind the bar, shame no one was undertaking regular checks. Other than that a lovely venue & good food.

If you fancy getting away from busy Brighton, you can take the bus to Rottingdean. Just about a 20 minute journey from Churchill Square. Most buses going to Seaford, Eastbourne will stop at Rottingdean high street which is a small seaside village just outside of Brighton. You can also walk or cycle on the under cliff walk from Brighton Marina which is a great location. This pub has excellent outside seating facing the sun literally on the beach. Amazing sunsets and quiet and relaxing compared to the hustle and bustle of Brighton. A good range of draft lagers, wines but the location is a winner. Prices are reasonable, especially for the location. The beach is opposite and has life guards in the summer. Didn’t have food but menu seems limited when this review was published so check the website that gives details. They also do accommodation here. A great place to watch the sea, sunsets and relax.

Perfectly positioned hotel as it is right on the seafront in Rottingdean. The hotel could do with little TLC it's looking a bit tired. But this doesn't distract from the fact that the rooms are comfortable and the service is excellent. There are good menu choices and a good selection of beers and wine. Brighton is only 18 mins by bus. We were told that the hotel will be closed in August 2023 as it is going refurbished. Highly recommended. Those who work for the emergency services NHS, police etc and own a blue star card can get a 20% discount on food until Dec 2023.

This hotel was excellent value for money and got a free upgrade to premier room , the building looks a bit tired from the outside but it’s a nice place inside. The room was big and spacious and 4 poster bed was very comfortable. Nice powerful shower in morning too and great sea view

Stayed here for 3 nights August bank holiday weekend. We were a little sceptical when we saw the front of the building from the road but this hotel proved to be a little gem. Check in was easy with a really friendly guy. Although the room was a little tired and in need of a touch up of paint the experience was excellent, we had a partial sea view but the noise from the main rd may be troublesome for some, a fan is supplied in the room and once the windows were shut it cut the noise level down some. The room was clean and tidy, with a large comfortable bed and plenty of wardrobe space. Breakfast and evening meal where delicious 😋 all staff were polite, friendly and helpful especially John who was very helpful with booking for next year. We would 100% stay here again. Only gave 4 stars because it could do with a little TLC but for the money, excellent 👌

A lovely spot on a sunny day with views out to sea. Service, whilst not the fastest, is friendly & efficient. Good Sunday Roasts. A more relaxed & cheaper option than most Brighton pubs.

Stayed here for 2 nights after getting a deal we couldn't refuse for Easter weekend. We were a little sceptical when we saw the front of the building from the road. Check in was easy with a really friendly guy. Although the room was a little tired and the bathroom could do with updating, we had a sea view room with a balcony. Room was clean and tidy, with a large comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious 😋 all staff were polite, friendly and helpful. We would 100% stay here again. Only gave 4 stars because it could do with a little TLC but for the money, excellent 👌

I booked a room for work last minute and still ended up with a sea view! And what a view it was. Lovely clean room decorated tastefully and the restaurant/pub was great. The barman was a great bloke although i didn't get his name. The bbq burger was one of the best I have eaten. Decent selection of beers too. Overall 10/10 and would recommend.
