Stayed here for one night but would have loved to stay longer. Beautiful hotel and grounds. We were kindly offered a free upgrade to a delightful room with a three posters bed, which was very comfortable. Breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious. Excellent location for exploring the local towns and countryside. The restaurant was not open for dinner but we ate at a nice pub, five minutes’ walk away.
Just spent one night here and couldn’t fault it. Had a room with a four poster and view over the garden. The room was very spacious, well furnished and bed huge and comfortable. Gardens are beautifully kept and very pretty. Very good breakfast. No evening restaurant but ate in a nearby pub.
Stayed here for a short weekend trip to the Peak District and it was great. Really close to some stunning walks. Perfect location to explore the Derbyshire Dales!
The room was beautiful old country vibe decor, lovely four poster bed which was comfortable. Had a lovely view from our room window too which is always nice.
It had all the usual amenities… ironing board, iron, wardrobe with hangers, TV (not that I used it), soaps and shampoo/conditioner etc. A nice little touch was the book and magazines that gave some local suggestions.
The main reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the breakfast was very expensive.. £15 each when one of us had eggs royale and the other had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. They also don’t do evening food which is a shame, but they do suggest some local eateries which is helpful. Lastly, the bath tub could do with a touch up but aside from that all clean and what you would expect for the price. All minor things really.
Overall I had a lovely stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful & the grounds of the hotel are so quaint and pretty.
