A very pleasant old pub in the heart of Saltburn with a spectacular view of this picturesque seaside village. The menu is typical pub grub and there is a splendid selection of beers. In summer there are man places to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine but in winter there is a sense of cosiness inside. Really worth a visit.
Lunch in a beautiful setting😍 I believe this pub/restaurant has only recently become a Greene King addition. We found the menu had a good selection. The food we ordered arrived in a timely manner and was well presented and really nice. My friend's ordered the Steak and Ale Pie as it had been recommended to them and it didn't disappoint. They said it was great. Drinks were a very reasonable price too. We couldn't sit outside as the weather wasn't warm enough but managed to get a table with a bit of a sea view. Would recommend booking in advance if you would like a sea view from your table. We really enjoyed ourselves and will certainly be visiting again.
Fantastic location, sitting with a drink overlooking the beach is amazing.
The fish n chips however, were substandard - pre battered fish, frozen chips and no scraps.
Service extremely slow at the outside chippy - the chef was hungover and made no secret of it.
Maybe teething problems, I hope so.
Great pub right by the beach, fantastic views.
Food was superb.
Good selection of drinks.
Dog friendly, a massive bonus.
Will be back.

Used to frequent The Ship in past years and left a little disappointed until the re-vamp. Staff were amazing, great atmosphere, food was delicious and good portion sizes. I had cod & chips and it was fresh ... so fresh a decent vet could have revived it! lol batter was perfect ..... Will definitely go again and soon.
Super warm, welcoming pub. Only had a starter ( Chicken Strips ), but they were really good. Nice and friendly staff. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in these parts. Good range of beers, too.

Good food, great range of beers, friendly service. The cod and chips are massive and very tasty. I saw many tables ordering them. Try them you will not be disappointed. Pizzas looked good too.
We visited last night for the first time under new management.
What a lovely atmosphere, nice music which added to that. Very busy as it was quite a nice evening but we had booked in advance so no problems getting a table. The young man who served us was very pleasant even though you could tell he was new at the job.
The food was lovely but I marked it down 1 star as there was no parmo on the menu that we could see but other than that, really enjoyed it.
The only downside is parking. Even though we were eating there, we had to park our car quite some distance as not a parking space to be had.
Saying that, we will be back for definite.
