What a gem of a place! Beautiful woodland walks, walled vegetable garden and glass houses to see. Plenty to entertain children - organised art activities and play areas inside and out, a water play area for summer fun, a land train plus lots of grassed areas for ball games and bike riding. Loved the Hall itself, elegant without the grandeur and some beautiful chandeliers! The Farm Museum was very interesting and well laid out. Everywhere we went we were greeted by friendly, knowledgable staff who readily answered any questions. All this for a very reasonable entrance fee! We shall certainly recommend to friends and family and come again ourselves.
Attended servants trail and afternoon tea can highly recommend, although nothing much left of the servants quarters Sarah our guide made it come alive by her knowledge and passion for the Hall . It is great to hear the history of the Hall from a different angle and hope there are more afternoons like this
Oh and the tea was absolutely delicious
Excellent place to spend an afternoon with things to keep kids occupied or just a place to take the dog for a walk. The woodland has a path running through it with bins and benches dotted about. Some art pieces to look out for. Nice walled garden to see, kids play areas, crazy golf, farming museum, Hall, land train and cafes. Yearly pass is avadible if it's somewhere you may visit regularly
We really like this place for a little family trip out, our two year old loves the splash pad and we had a great time in the little museum playing with the toys upstairs. We have an annual pass so it’s great value.
An interesting Regency house with lots of artefacts. Although this building is considered to be from the Regency period, the land and history of the family goes back much further. There are clear explanations in each room and plenty to see. They also host civil weddings in a large room upstairs.
In the grounds there is Go-Ape, an interesting Rural Life Museum, a Walled Garden, a café, a small gift shop and plenty of parking. If you are lucky you may see the white peacock.
We paid £7 each (concessions). It is well worth a visit.
Had a great day out. Cafe is friendly and has a range of sandwiches. Grounds are really lovely. Land train is a great addition. Around £8 person to get in. Lots for all ages.
We took the kids here to fly their kites on the weekend. They loved every minute of it. The land train was great. They loved feeding the ducks and the one roaming rooster. Got a few bits at the cute little gift shop. We also went for a bite at lunch time, at the cafe. Some lovely pies and chips to be had. The cake section could do with a bit more variety. Very friendly staff as well.
Great place to visit
Well maintained Hall with lots of original features
Good grounds to walk around and really helpful staff
Highly recommended
We go regularly and the annual family pass is only £40 for this year (2023) it’s a lovely walk, picnic, camping is cheap enough with electric hook up
❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️
Out toddler loves the splash pad and running around the grounds. He's also rather excited by both the land train and miniature steam train. The cafe is nothing to get excited about. However, overall its always a great visit and fantastic value for money with the annual pass
Spent a lovely afternoon here with my family. One of many visits. A beautiful setting and lovely staff. So reasonable too.
Plenty of things to entertain children. One water play area and one traditional. Dog friendly, and plenty of places to buy refreshments. Would highly recommend.
A lovely park, interesting hall, and a great parkrun and cafe!
