This is a really great venue and the place I always take my non-gaming family and friends. They always enjoy it. It’s also a good daytime visit with kids. The staff are tolerant of well behaved smalls. The cover charge is reasonable given the huge investment in a large variety of games. The drinks and cakes are great. Staff are always friendly and I get the sense it’s a good place to work. Occasionally, occasionally…. let down by not the best food. I think more thought could be put into the kinds of foods that are easy to eat while gaming..

Didn't eat here but the coffee is good, booked for 2 hours and the kids really enjoyed it. Massive selection of games, very nice staff recommending different games to play based on and speed and complexity of game etc. Liked one in particular so bought it new. Great idea. Would recommend for rainy days.

One of my favourite places in Sheffield. Amazing selection of boardgames, tasty food and nice drinks. Good selection of beers on tap, and the milkshakes are delicious. Can recommend the nachos as well. The place has a really nice, relaxed atmosphere.
Worth booking as it's regularly busy.

My friend Autumn and I came here on Friday and it was so fun. I’d never been to a board game cafe before but when I thought of game board cafes, stereotypes had led me to automatically think, poorly lit space reserved for serious gamers…so I wasn’t sure it would be for me.
In fact, Treehouse was very well lit (lol), modern, and full of people having a good time.
Our server was Sam and he expertly advised us on games - we v much enjoyed his suggested game. He was nice and helpful👍
There’s also a cocktail menu so that’s fun. We had two each (v yum).
Give it a go ⭐️

Gosh I wish I had a place like this in my town!
Group of six of us, some from Manchester, York and Derby so we wanted somewhere in the middle, The Treehouse came up as number 1 for boardgames cafe. The BG Cafe I had been to before was in London.
The Treehouse is sooooo clean and tidy, as soon as you walk in it's just so beautiful! So much choice for board games, I love that they had recommendations on like "best for beginners" and "good game for 2 people". It's also a great system so you can return the games back yourselves.
There is a qr code on the table, this shows you the menu and also recommendations for board games for the number of players. We found this very useful.
Booking online was very simple, we didn't have to pay in advance which was great. It was £2 per person per house which we thought was a bargain considering how much choice of board games there are.
You can buy board games there was well.
You order easily at the bar and they put it on your table tab or you can pay there and then.
The only downside which is no fault of there own as it is such a busy place is that the food and drinks do not all come at the same time.
My partner needs a drink to digest food so having our food out 20-30 minutes before the drinks arrived wasn't ideal, luckily I had a bottle of water on me at the time.
It also meant me and my partner had finished our food way before the rest of the table even though we all ordered at the same time (the only difference was we paid ours straight away but I can't see why this would change as we were all on the same table and ordered the same time....) we will try differently next time and see if it works.
The food choices are great, lots of vegetarian and vegan options too! I had a mushroom, cheese and spinach toastie and it completely filled me up! I was really surprised. The portions for the whole table were really good. (toastie was £9.50)
Very fun atmosphere, the max you can have a table for is 6 hours which made it £12 per person - amazing!!
Toilets were also clean, with disabled toilet on the same level as the games as well.
As soon as we left we all agreed we would 100% be back!

Really impressed with this place. It was busy but really well organised and not overwhelming, with a really nice atmosphere. The staff were great, recommending some games from the massive selection and even taking the time to explain how to play when we needed it. I'm told by people who were drinking that the selection of beers is good, but I can confirm from experience that the food is excellent, a little pricey but well worth it.
I went on crutches this time, but the whole place seemed wheelchair accessible, including the accessible loo on the ground floor. Might be a bit tight getting to some of the tables, and the door at the front entrance is really heavy, I would have needed help opening it in my chair, otherwise great.

We have now been here twice and this place is brilliant. There were so many games to choose from, and our first game, we were so confused, but one of the staff explained it to us, which was incredibly helpful. All the staff are friendly and helpful. We didn't have food but the coffee is really nice. Definitely recommend.

I organised a trip here as a society and everyone had such a great time. There’s an amazing selection of games and the milkshakes were incredible. Would definitely recommend the salted caramel. It only costs £2 per person per hour to play so would definitely recommend as something to do in Sheffield and it’s open late as well.

This place is fantastic and you can tell there’s lots of thought and care put into this place.
Warm, family-friendly atmosphere and a very clean, well-kept space. Feels like a safe space for anyone. Lots of great food and drink options, including alcohol.
Staff super helpful and friendly and let you know when your time slot is about to expire and if you would like to extend it. They can give you suggestions for games based on players, too.
The games library here is so extensive and everything seems to be in great condition. Lots of games available to buy, too. There’s even a little shelf under the table to put your board game bits!
Honestly one of my favourite spots I’ve ever visited, so relaxing, fun and cheaper than I imagined. Can’t wait to return to try more games and food.

The food was amazing. Really well priced.
Plenty of games to buy too.
100% would recommend, even of you are not a big fan of the games you can still have so much with friends and its a really chilled out place.
