Amazing food & excellent customer service
We visited last Sunday, 3 adults & 2 children. We arrive a little late to discover our table had actually been booked for 30 minutes later, the server apologised & we had a drink in the bar whilst looking at the menus
When we were seated we were apologised to again our orders were taken straight away.
2 of us ordered the same sausage but when it arrived we were told our option had run out & we should have been advised of this, the server told us that our server was very new, 1 of us had the sausage that would be on the next menu, it was beef, beetroot, chocolate & pistachio, put together by new chef Dave. We both turned our noses up at this but didn't want to wait so my friend took the plunge, we were advised we would not have to pay for that meal. This strange concoction is something we would all order again as it was stunning. All plates went back to the kitchen empty.
During our meal we were also given a round of drinks for all the inconvenience.
The children as always had room for more we ordered childrens brownies but when the bill came we had been charged for adults (as this is what was given to us) I notified the 'new girl' & she sorted it.
Whilst some people might think this wasn't a great experience I can assure you it was the best any of us have had in a long time & this was reflected in our larger than normal tip.
I would highly recommend the Broadfield as a place for great beer, gin, food & customer experience. You do need to book at this time of year.
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Simple robust food that lets quality ingredients do the talking. Stuffed baby squid was the best squid dish I've ever eaten in the UK. Amazing value!
This has to be one of the best pubs around Abbeydale and has the best selection of beers and ales, as well as cooking a cracking Sunday dinner. I can’t wait to go back it’s always a guaranteed winner. I went to one of the special evenings upstairs and it was a quirky take on a traditional British menu, with a twist! Pop in for a pint on a Friday or Saturday evening and there is a real buzz. The outdoor space at the back is very spacious and in the summer there is no where better!
Really wonderful pub and restaurant with and outdoor terrace area. Dog friendly too- can order food in the pub area with a dog (not in the restaurant area). Staff was really friendly and the selection of beverages is ace- cocktails, ales, and more!
I went for a good ol’ steak pie and it was great! The chips were big and juicy ! The bone marrow gravy was absolutely ace! The pie was filled with a lot of homemade goodness! My friends got fish n chips and the chicken and Brie pie which was also great!
Of course I has to finish off with the a dessert! The crumble was great - very tasty and hearty. Unfortunately the banoffee cake a bit chewy- microwaved? Overall, positive experience and will definitely love to come back to try more!
My first visit. An excellent pub with a great range of beers, plus excellent food and great service. Also a beer garden at the back and a bus stop outside. Will definitely call again.
First visit to this part of Sheffield. Casta and Boothroyd having done the research started us off in this awsome award winning pub ( for food as well as beer.) It is on the main road. Large and lovely interior with a selection of real ales spread around the large bar so peruse first. Casta chose a New Zealand Pale at 3.8% from the Black Iris brewery. Very good. Large patio beer garden to the rear. A sun trap on this glorious sunny June afternoon. A great find.
It was ok. Pub food with big portions . Nice staff. Big drink menu. I enjoyed my meal. But my partner said his was so so. I couldn't taste it do to allergies. The menu felt meat heavy but I did see vegetarian options and they did have a vegan gravy. The place was packed. I probably wouldn't go back.
Amazing choice of beer. Staff were really friendly [considering it was really really busy that says a lot], then there was the steak and kidney pie. In my 65 years, it's probably the best I've ever had [sorry Nan]. Thank you Broadfield great job
Love the Broadfield. Good food and drinks! Fun quiz night too!
Actually a 4 and a half star. Overall just a very good pub-restaurant. On the night itself it was very noisy. The service was good and so was the food. Nice selection of international beers (a bit pricy though). One of the waitresses reminded me of (a young) Cameron Diaz.
Great pub, the roasts are pretty consistently great. Lovely vibes full of kids and dogs. Always enjoy taking friends and family who are visiting Sheffield.
Hands down the best pub in Sheffield. The building is really nice with loads of seating, the drinks selection is great including a great non-alcoholic choice, the service is spot on and the food is AMAZING. Like, unexpectedly tremendous food
