Fantastic views, a lot of the menu had sold out for Sunday lunch and we were there at 12.00 and had already press booked. They said they had a busy day Saturday and sold out of stuff. So why take a pre order. Totally pointless

We stayed over in our campervan. Initially I phoned to pre book 4 vans with EHU and a table for 7 people. On arrival there was some confusion as only 1 of the vans was booked in. The staff were very apologetic and quickly resolved the misunderstanding. We had some extremely fussy people in our group and the staff were always polite snd courteous and VERY patient with us. The food was amazing! One of the best stakes I've had in a long time. The portions were very generous and all 7 people really enjoyed the food including the yummy puds! The pub is dog friendly which was a bonus for us. The car park is on a slight slope but didn't bother us. There is no designated parking for vans and the EHU point is in the far corner of the car park so a long cable might just come in handy. Only 2 out of the 4 vans used the electric. Thank you for accommodating us even when some of my group became a bit opinionated which I can only apologise for.

Nice old fashioned pub with a log burner. Food was great and real ales are well kept and well presented. The decor is tired and needs decorating.

A really random visit not planned. Decided to walk some of the Rivelin Valley and found the Three Merry Lads listed on Google maps! What a surprise!! Parked up in both our Motorhomes, as it was Sunday we enquired whether we could book a table, lovely service and response. We arrived early as it was a miserable day so didn't walk far. No problem accommodating us even though busy. 4 of us with three dogs - VERY dog friendly - even met Dave the huge Great Dane!!.... Food was excellent, freshly prepared, hot and tasty. Drinks with choice of cask ales also excellent having Taylors Landlord and Bradfield Brewery's ales too. Can't fault it and will be back. Average prices and GOOD value for money.

After a day of hiking at 28°C, I decided to reward myself with a swim in the lake, a meal and a cold shandy. The Three Merry Lads was the closest pub, so I decided to go for it, as didn't want to travel any further away. I did not pay attention to many details, as totally exhausted, but the service was impeccable. Once I asked if they could do vegan pizza for me, I had a straight yes as an answer, even if there was no vegan pizza on the menu. Pizza arrived within a few minutes and have to admit that ordering it, was one of the best ideas that day. The pizza was delicious, thin and crunchy. I was very surprised by how the cheese melted and how tasty it was. The lovely girls were checking on me from time to time asking if everything was fine or if I needed something else. They were lovely. I sat outside, as wanted to absorb even more fresh air and get dry after my dip in the lake. The view from the outside area was beautiful, straight onto some hills. The car park was big enough to fit many cars. I did not use the facilities, so hard to say anything about the cleanness.

I nipped here for a family dinner recently having last visited over 10 years ago.. not much has changed but there are a good couple of Lagers on draught and the menu is simple but was tasty and more than adequate when it arrived. The sun was out but it was pretty windy so as much as the outdoor terrace looked inviting I quickly retreated inside! A decent family pub if you want to nip for something to eat and not spend much. Would visit again if it was part of an invitation from friends but probably wouldn’t be my first choice of S10 pubs.

Had a great meal here with friends after a walk at Rivelin. If you're veggie or vegan, the spicy falafel and spinach burger is great (I'm not but really enjoyed it). The falafel wrap my friend had was huge - came with rice, chips and salad! Nice sitting-out space with a play area. Staff are very friendly and efficient.

Beautiful traditional style pub which has real fires and a lovely warm atmosphere. The staff were excellent and very friendly and the food was top notch for the price! P.s. the Lamb burger is amazing.
