Ma-ba

I had the vegetarian thali which comes with three curries, a scoop of rice, poppadoms, raita, mango ras, and 2 chapatis. It was amazing!!! The quality of the food was good. I appreciate the cleanliness as well. The rate of thali is reasonable as well. However, I was disappointed by their service. They were not at all friendly. They didn’t even care to greet their customers, and the way they interacted with us (me and my friend) was not impressive. We wanted to order some more, but their way of communication stopped us to make further orders. Also, I feel like it would be nice if they increase no. of chapatis by 1 or 2 in the thali. There are three curries but just two chapatis of a normal size. It’s practically not enough.

I had the meat feast combo that comes with chicken curry and keema curry, rice and a quarter of naan. Overall it was nice, friendly and quick service. I just think it should come with a bit more naan 😅 💷 £13.50 was a bit on the higher side for what it was taking in account the location. This dish is halal and they have several halal options available.

First time eating at MA-ba today. I plumped for one of my favourites, the classic Tarka Dhal, here served with rice, bread and yoghurt dip, plus I ordered a Rose Milk. Easy to compare the main against all my other experiences of it, this did not disappoint. So full of flavour and cooked to perfection.The good sized portion made a satisfying main and the bread and dip made a lovely accompaniment. To top it off the Rose Milk was just sensational. All for under £15. What's not to love. Thank you MA-ba, I'll be back!

I tried out Ma-ba for the first time on Saturday and I was quite impressed actually! The food arrived well within the stated time and the taste was just lovely. I had the masala chips, chickpea curry with rice and popadom with a pickle tray. The masala chips were very generous in potion and well seasoned, they were very enjoyable. The curry was very flavoursome and reminiscent of the authentic flavours i grew up with. The spice levels were a bit lacking for me personally but it still had a good level of overall flavour. The portions were decent sized too. The only downside is that my popadoms were missing so I can’t say if they were good or not, but I did get a refund for that which was surprising and appreciated. I really recommend eating here and I will come back to try other various dishes!
