What a lovely day, celebrating my birthday, the food was delicious and everyone had the food of there choice, the younger children opted for burgers which they in unison said mmm yummy. Steak, and the steak & ale pie was voted the best ever, the dish, which no one had had before was butterfly fish all dishes had fresh vegetables/chips in a little basket I had a delicious vegetarian lasagne. A large variety of desserts was available if you had room for one. Thanks to everyone, waiting staff the chef and everyone who made me and my family so welcome, we will be back soon.
Wonderful Sunday lunch today and the staff were incredibly proficient and attentive to us. The request for gluten free dishes was met with 100% consideration and helpfulness. Nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend and our thanks for a lovely meal all round (which was amazing value for money). Lovely venue and so welcoming.
We had a really lovely lunch today. Staff and food are lovely. Found out they are real doggy friendly so definitely going back with them next week. I even forgot my bag and they kept it safe for me, fabulous people. See you again soon and thank you to all of you again. X
Is there an option for 6 stars?? This place is fantastic! The food was of the highest standard and very generously portioned, the drinks were well priced ( including the pubs very own pilsner!) doggies are welcome inside and out and they even offer a little something for them on the menu! If you want to relax, eat great food and enjoy the warm atmosphere?! Please give this place a try! Will come back time and time again!
As a local I'm biased as i already knew what a fantastic pub it was, but we trusted the angel with our wedding reception and it exceeded our expectations as not only was the food absolutely fantastic, but the service we were given by Fiona and the pubs incredible staff was literally second to none. I've since been constantly bored by people telling me the food was the best they've had at a wedding (especially the fish dish) and the entire wedding party can then testify to what a superb pub it is, with an excellent atmosphere and great selection of ales.
Can't thank them enough for making our day special.
We stopped here on passing for a meal. There was a mistake when our order was initially taken but this was quickly corrected by staff. Excellent customer service. Good atmosphere. Food was very nice. 5 ⭐️
Went on a Saturday for lunch. Food was lovely and came in huge portions. Price was okay. Staff were friendly. Would like to try a Sunday roast
Great sized portions, great food and friendly staff. They have everything you need and nothing is too much trouble.
Thanks you for a lovely Sunday lunch. The Asian Salmon was delicious and still makes my mouth water thinking of it!
Fantastic Sunday dinner, great service, just a shame the about the chairs ! Common guys upgrade your seats and everyone will be much more comfortable, stay twice as long and sped more money !
We recently held a Celebration of Life at The Angel. The food was absolutely delicious and just the right amount. The Vegans in our party commented on how lovely their selection. was too.
Can definitely recommend.
Welcome on entry. Quick to be seated. Just a short wait for food which was fantastic. Have not been there before but will certainly recommend.
VERY DOG FRIENDLY!
Located on the edge of North Shoeburyness, an attractive collection of cottages has been restored as the Angel Inn.
A traditional country pub, with flagstone floors, good furnishings and soft background music, which allows for easy conversation.
A traditional country style bar with an open fire in the winter months, where you can enjoy a variety of real ales, Guinness, draught lagers or bottled beers.
The restaurant, serves good food at reasonable prices. The Daily Specials Board shows food you can enjoy from the bar or restaurant
The Angel is equipped with disabled facilities.
This historic listed timber framed structure dates from circa 1650 and was formerly the North Shoebury Post Office and Blacksmiths Shop.
The adjoining thatched Wheelwrights which eventually succumbed to the elements in the mid 1920′s is now the site of the new restaurant addition.
Together with the neighbouring antique shop and cottages these buildings were, until recently, on the register of historic buildings at risk but have now been restored by the present owner and licensee and given a new role as the Angel Inn.
This is a very popular pub and meeting place both winter and summer. During warm sunny days and evenings you can enjoy a drink and a chat outside at one of the tables or snuggle down in front of the fire with a warming meal during the coldest weather.
Perfect for a quiet drink or a meal with friends and family. Parking available at rear of pub.
Highly recommended hidden gem with a touch of class and history.
Definitely worth considering.
