Came her for lunch and had a great meal. The scotch egg starter was very tasty and a good size portion. The main I went for the pork and it was cooked to perfection. Very tasty, full of flavour and it wasn't too chewy. The service from the staff was excellent and the place is very well kept. Highly recommended to come for the food you won't be disappointed.
I recently visited the Henry Tudor House and it was a delightful experience. The historical ambiance added a unique charm to the place, transporting me back in time. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The menu offered a variety of delectable dishes, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. I particularly enjoyed the local steak that did not need.a sharp knife to cut it Overall, the Henry Tudor House Bar is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and food lovers alike.
Definitely highly recommended.
Book a table before you go. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the atmosphere and menu immensely. The staff were knowledgeable about the dishes and drinks on offer. There was a separate vegetarian menu. Their website is really well done too.
We had tempura prawn and chorizo starters - delicious. Pork belly and beef Wellington were amazing; served with yummy vegetables, mash etc. all beautifully presented. I’d love to go back!
The only thing I’d warn peeps about is the uneven cobblestone walkway outside in the alley in front of restaurant - tread carefully. It’s very old and not particularly friendly to baby prams, wheelchairs or high heels, nor, I imagine, drunken patrons.
Very Nice restaurant with a great atmosphere. The service was perfect.
The food was good well presented and then portion generous. We had a great time
Perfect spot for Sunday Lunch in Shrewsbury 🍖🍠🥕🥦
Attended with a few friends and really enjoyed our meal. Lots of room for seating, sky light window area was a very nice touch. Food was very tasty, with lots of choice for different Sunday roasts on the menu. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. Would return again 😊
We hadn't been here for years and decided to treat ourselves to something a bit more special than usual
The service was fab and the food was great
I had been planning on a pie, had even already decided that I was going to have one regardless of the filling of the day. But it had celery as a main ingredient... Defeated, I went for the Wellington!
It was a pricey dish, but when it arrived there was two good sized slices. The pastry was crisp and the meat pink, perfect
Our other main was the cottage pie, which had been smartened up to a proper restaurant dish. Tasty!
As the portions were generous, we shared a dessert. The baked Alaska was hands down, one of the best puds I've ever eaten. The portion size was quite big so it was ideal to share, it had a bit of everything. Pistachio cake, torched meringue, ice cream and finely diced fruit. It was a great way to finish off a lovely meal
If I had to pick a fault somewhere, I would say the raviolo starter could have been hotter. But, the surprise egg yolk hidden inside made up for it
Great place when you feel like treating yourself
Amazing place! Very Friendly staff and good selection of beer etc to choose from. Will definitely be coming back to this place! Quite a lot of seats in the place but I would recommend pre booking on the weekend as it is very busy and would be hard to find somewhere to sit, can’t wait to return!
Atmospheric centuries old place hiding down an alley off Wyle Cop. Great venue. Fish n chips excellent. Fish was top quality being white and flakey. Beer batter was very light and crispy. Great chunky chips, even mushy peas and tartar sauce were delicious. They offer a small portion which was more than enough for me. Service was excellent.
Second visit here and loved it both times. The first time we came here was at lunchtime on our minimoon just after our wedding last September. We loved it then and knew we had to come back to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. This time we came in the evening and was coincidentally sat at the same as the first visit. The waitress was hospitable and attentive. For starters we had the plaice and salmon fishcake and the chicken liver parfait. For mains we had the belly pork, roast potatoes and gravy; and sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce and chips. All the food was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. I also ordered a few of the cocktails off the menu which were delicious too.
First time here, but loved the food. Not the cheapest or the biggest quantities but very nice all the same. Large, open spaces for dining and drinking. Well worth a visit on a night out.
