Johnny’s Number #1 Caribbean Hut

We had curry goat with rice and peas, curry goat with roti, plaintan and sorrel. The food was delicious!! Goat a little too salty for me but full of great flavours. So enjoable! Johnny gave great service and a chat. We are from London and good Caribbean take aways are hard to find. Pay no attention to what you see on the menu on line, go in and find out for yourself what's on offer. Great Southend find and will go back again!!

Came today and unfortunately I was too early as curry goat was not quite ready. In the end I decided to go for the jerk chicken. Tend to prefer curry goat over jerk chicken as I prefer the more savoury flavours over the sweet bbq type Caribbean grill dishes, however have to say it was absolutely delicious. It’s clear Johnny the owner has and still does work very hard. It’s a great little place with great selection of authentic carribbean dishes which represent jamaican culture which I imagine must be hard to keep prepped up with. Thankyou
