We had lunch there today and the food was excellent and not too badly priced for the location. Very helpfull waiting staff sorted us out with a table outside in the sun. Will definately eat there again if in Southwold.
We were a corporate group being hosted by Adnams, we were looked after extremely well and the team could not have done enough for us, the food was excellent and the drinks quality top notch. I would recommend to friends and will return next time I'm in Suffolk.
Wonderful staff. Really helpful in a difficult situation. A family member fell ill and we had to get an ambulance. They went above and beyond to be supportive and kind. I returned late from the hospital when all food establishments were closed and they found me delicious cold snacks to see me through. The beds were comfortable and even before the incident nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We would definitely come back.
Had 7 nights in Southwold and went to The Crown for an evening meal 3 times. Food and atmosphere were excellent. My wife loved the Plum & Orange Meringue with Stem Ginger Ice-cream. But the star of the show was Siobhan who made us feel welcome, had time for us and nothing was too much trouble. Had a constant smile on her face and in her voice.
Very nice evening meal. Fillet of sea bass portion a bit small, but haddock and prawn burger ample - both delicious. Nice puddings although coffee was a bit tepid. Expensive at £90 inc gratuity when only two mains, two puds, a coffee and two alcoholic drinks. Nice service, very clean and easy parking.
We liked both rooms. The larger one in particular was amazing. Service was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast.
Quirky and historical building, lots of atmosphere.
We popped in for a evening drink and sat out the back where the bar is located. Staff were polite.
It was quite busy with dining customers so it must be good for food also.
The bar area has a cosy feel because it's quite small which was good. Definitely worth a visit.
Room was small and stuffy (cheapest room available) but everything worked perfectly, particularly the blasting shower. Excellent back bar, unchanged for decades. Fine breakfast, supper good but expensive. All staff a delight and 100% professional.
Lovely restaurant. Lovely setting. Very comfortable with cushions for your back/to sit on if you want to. Lovely food freshly prepared. Very nice ambiance all round.
Very much enjoyed our stay at the Crown. The only negative was the room was very hot and even after turning the radiators down there wasn't a chance of sleeping much as the duvet was very hot too! It depends what you like I suppose and my husband and I prefer a cooler bed.
The staff were all very pleasant and couldn't fault the service.
A lovely location right on the High Street and a short stroll to the seafront. Great choice!
Only went in for a pint. It isn't cheap but the service was excellent. It was busy, having a good food service. It's a card only which isn't good for all customers but seems popular.
Lovely Sunday 3 course lunch, greeted by friendly staff, given our usual table for two in the green room. Time for a aperitif in the back bar before lunch. Excellent service.
