Fantastic meal, we finished every course off completely. That is apart from my wife's dessert, when the waiter asked if it was ok? she replied yes that she was full, however he thought the dessert didn't look quite right apologised and removed it. He returned stating that it hadn't set properly and again apologised on behalf of the chef. The cost of the dessert was removed from the bill, which was excellent, all with out us asking or complaining, as a form of compensation he also removed my wife's s peppermint tea.
Our waiter was one of the best waiters I/we have had the pleasure to be served by, he was attentive, polite and very helpful, I have had the pleasure of eating in many Michelin stared restaurants and can say that Lussmanns in St Albans restaurant is up there with them. HI/we highly recommend giving it a try.
Visited 17.12.16 as a Christmas treat with family and could not fault anything. Beautiful setting right next to Abbey, quirky interior, very warm and cosy. Food was delicious and the staff were amazing. Good value for money. Highly recommend visiting!
I've been to two of the Lussman's and it's just such a perfect setting for a romantic evening. The dishes are reasonably priced and well presented.
I've tried the duck confit and the pork schnitzel. The pork schnitzel is my personal favourite.

We went to Lussmans for my Birthday lunch with friends. The waiting staff are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We all had the 3 course set menu and it was delicious. I was given a bunch of flowers and they even gave me some water to keep them in until we had finished our meal!
I found the venue to be very aesthetically pleasing. It had a very modern yet warm surroundings and atmosphere.
The food itself was particularly well presented and tasted very fresh. I would say elements of the dishes were slightly under seasoned for my palette; or missing a little something to accompany the meals to take them to another level. Nevertheless, a really great meal and no genuine complaints.
Service on a weeknight evening was excellent and I found the staff to be attentive and knowledgeable.
Overall, I would recommend this restaurant and see myself returning in the near future.
We have the highest recommendation for this restaurant and the wonderful manager, Kelly. She is evidently a dedicated and competent leader, and the staff and chefs are all excellent. Fitting in a group of 10 people at late notice for a Sunday lunch, at a time of important family bonding after some personal news, we were welcomed with kindness, not to mention delicious food. Excellent, simply excellent. Loved the food, the service, the atmosphere, the wine choice, the pudding. Above all they care about sourcing the ingredients sustainably. And they care about the customers also in terms of levels of noise with carefully placed sound absorbing ceiling accessories. We will definitely be back.
Decent restaurant with nice food and service, though just to say a little bit pricy compared with the portion.
We went there the other evening for a business dinner. I recall going here many years ago when my daughter when she was little and once again it didn’t disappoint. Greeted at the door, care and consideration taken for all ages of those at the table by the staff. Food was marvellous and hats off to the chefs for catering to our needs... Atmosphere was very relaxing, and it was nice and calm! Absolutely fabulous night and we shall certainly be back soon!

Booked Lussmans for a Boxing Day lunch. As I require Gluten Free, I notified them before we arrived but there was no need. They handled it extremely well.
Food was lovely, I’d have liked a bit more beetroot on the starter as it did get a bit lost but it was tasty. The lamb and the schnitzel were perfect.
There’s a curtain across the door to stop the cold air when someone comes in and they make sure it’s always closed. Atmosphere was perfect.
We’ll likely make this an annual Christmas visit
Great food a service. We visited on Mother’s Day 2 adults 2 teens. Had a wonderful time in the modern, relaxed restaurant. Servers were professional and very helpful.
Padron peppers, halloumi, mackerel, smoked haddock and sides all stand out. Poached eggs were perfection.
Def worth a visit if you’re a fish lover

We had a superb experience for a special family meal in a private dining area. It couldn't be faulted! We had a range of dishes from the very good value set menu. They were all excellent, beautifully cooked and tasty. Staff were friendly and attentive even on this busy Saturday evening. Highly recommended.
