Me and my wife were at P5 for a birthday party,we had a reserved part of the Inside as did another party that was taking place, it was a well respected private area as was the other party's Area. There was a live band playing and I happen to know the guys in the band on the night. It was not overwhelming loud and we could enjoy our private party as could the regular public enjoy the band. As a local reviewer I would have to say that Platform 5 was very good 👍 and I would recommend it for both a good friendly bar 🍸 and as a good venue for a private hire function Platform 5 out of 5.

Haven’t been to P5 for a long time, but decided to try them again for Sunday lunch. My kids were thrilled with there meal, main course with two sides for £5.99 plus an extra £1 for a drink. My falafel flatbread was surprisingly tasty, I had initially opted for for a vegetarian Sunday roast, but unfortunately they didn’t have any vegetarian option available. Overall I would recommend, with plenty of seating areas and free parking. Don’t forget to enter your registration number on entry.

Great pub this. We only called in for an hour and stayed all night. Nice to see really good entertainment on. The Committee band really worked hard and played all the dance floor hits. The girl singer was amazing and they seemed to be on all night. Let us know when next they are on and we’ll be there. The staff were very polite and really got into the music. Great vibe. In a word....fabulous! I had just landed in Manchester and was advised I needed to experience fish and chips. My train dropped me at Gatly and the chic look of the restaurant caught my eye. The service (Stuart and Nicola) was super friendly when I entered and they got me set up with my order of fish and chips and peas! I love that it is served with a veggie....not so in the USA. The fish was lightly battered and perfect. I loved it was one large peice.....this made for less batter and more fish! The tartar sauce is delightfully zingy. I was also treated (by chef Hugo) to the fried squid and a dessert plate. OMG! The squid melts in your mouth! I have never had it served so tender and tasty. And when I thought my taste buds couldn't be happier I took a bite of a most delicate chocolate. The entire experience was a beautiful welcome to this country and I am lookinh forward to exploring more! Thank you Platform 5, Staurt, Nicola and Chef Hugo for making my first meal in England such a delight!

Three of us went last night for hangover food and was just what we needed. Classic burger with cheese and bacon with chips, Cod, peas and chips and Gammon Steak, peas, chips and two fried eggs....yes two eggs and fried to perfection. Food was served nicely. Staff were pleasant and helpful even when we changed tables as the sun came out so we chose a booth seat by the window. It also wasn't too noisy so we could chat. I found it quite unfair after reading reviews regards car parking which could stop people using this pub. We saw clearly the car park was park a pay and display however upon entering it has a machine on the right for you to enter your car reg for free parking. As a driver it's our responsibility to ask, just like if you have a food allergy. The staff cannot ask everyone whether they are using the car park or have food allergies. The system is understandable, to stop commuters parking for free there all day leaving no room for pub punters. I will most definitely return to try out their Pub Classics.
