Myrasoi - Street Food

I did not expect to find a takeaway of this quality in this area (which is not usually an easy place to find good food). Firstly the menu - lots of options that you don't commonly see on British South Asian menus. The street food element, such as chaat, is not something I have seen at a takeaway establishment before and there are some interesting specials too. Tonight I ordered meat samosas (my lifelong fave), Lamb Mumbai and a Bhatura. Lovely to see samosas with lots of meat in the filling and crisp fresh pastry. Too often places just fill them up with potato to save money. Not here. The Lamb Mumbai had strong, fresh spices and lots of heat. It tasted like real Asian food; not dumbed down for the mainstream. And a very satisfying Bhatura. I don't eat many carbs so that was a treat. Sad to see some people have left unkind reviews. I can't see how this establishment would deserve that and it seems mean-spirited. If you genuinely appreciate good South-Asian food you should be excited about My Rasoi. The staff and customer service: exemplary!!

Feel like I need to give five stars to offset the one poor rating given. They really don't deserve anything less than 4. I would give them a 4+ anyhow. It is the first time I've been, even though I live close by. I only tried a couple of dishes, so my basis for the rating is limited, but I thought the food was great. I had the Bhelpuri, which I could eat morning, noon and night. So light and refreshing, ideal for cooling down before tucking in to the Chicken Tikka Nagawala with the Coconut Rice. The clue is in the name... Naga! Pretty hot, but won't hurt. Definately will be going again. There are so many unusual choices to work my way through :))
