Was almost full when we arrived just after midday and was quickly seated. Had the breakfast, asked for poached eggs on both breakfasts, got both with fried so had to wait for water to boil the eggs, but arrived perfectly cooked after I'd almost finished the breakfast.
Tasty breakfast and a good coffee. The teapot had a woolen cosy with a pom pom on top 😁 (when was the last time you saw one of those?)
Due to the egg thing, they knocked the price of the drinks off. Thanks.
Was given a gift card for my birthday for Painters Sudbury. Checked out the menu online & called in on the off chance, greeted by a very friendly girl that explained they were busy but she’d try & sort a table out. Table for two, full English & ham egg & chips ordered. Excellent food, excellent staff, reasonable priced, definitely recommend. They were extremely busy & expected to wait a while, but to our astonishment, food arrived very quickly. Very impressed & will certainly return.
Just wanted to thank Tracy and the team for lovely tea party for my sisters 80th birthday celebration on 3rd February.
Everyone enjoyed themselves especially my sister as it was a total surprise.

After getting engaged last year, I was feeling a little disheartened that we wouldn't be able to afford our 'perfect' day. Until we met Tracy and her fab team...💗
My mum and I had High Tea at Painters for the first time in January, and we were totally blown away by the food, service and value for money! We spent that evening drooling over their catering menu, and a few weeks later, we contacted Tracy and booked our special day.
Just 6 months later, we celebrated our wedding and had the most perfect day. Painters were able to cater for our every need; we hired the venue for the afternoon/ evening, which included arrival drinks, High Tea with our immediate loved ones and an evening buffet/ party with our extended guests.
The attention to detail, yummy food, service and relaxed atmosphere was spot on, and everyone throughly enjoyed themselves. The pub itself is so quirky and lovely, and the garden... well Tracy told us they were going to decorate it nicely for the summer, and she did not disappoint!! It was beautiful!!! 🤩
Thank you all so much for all the hard work and efforts that went into making our day everything we could've wished for. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking to have a wedding or special occasion on a budget💗
We can't recommend holding an event at Painters at the Angel highly enough. Tracy was so helpful during the booking and planning stages of our party, with great communication throughout. We had the whole venue to ourselves from 5pm onwards, inside and out. The staff were so helpful, helping us to decorate, set up our playlist and super friendly all evening. The venue is so lovely with a cosy feel. The food was amazing and barely any of it was left! There is a great selection of drinks and cocktails. Overall it was great value for money as an venue and we will definitely be back, for their amazing breakfast, an afternoon tea or any future events. Thanks again Tracy and your team, it was an amazing night!
My wife and I met a customer to discuss business. We sat in the garden on a lovely warm day. Ordering was a doddle at the bar inside, there was a great choice on the menu. Once the order was placed and paid for it arrived at our table inside 15 minutes. The service was great and the food was delicious and very well presented.
Stayed this past weekend and was a really lovely stay! Staff were wonderful and so accommodating and helpful. Room was great and an excellent price! Will absolutely stay again next time we're in the area!

Absolutely fantastic experience with Painters at the Angel where Tracey, Alan and the whole crew managed to help us have the most perfect wedding! From the beginning, Tracy was incredibly helpful and supported us in putting together a fantastic day. We started with a delicious brunch with our guests which included a selection of bacon and sausage sandwiches followed by some mini quiches. When the rest of our party came, we had drinks on arrival where the team were very attentive and caring towards our guests. Finally, the most talked about aspect of our wedding, the grazing table! I cannot explain how beautiful and mouth watering this table looked. The food was fresh, locally sourced and very, very tasty! Tracy, Alan and the whole team went above and beyond with us, often checking in on us to make sure as the bride and groom we had a chance to sit down, have a drink and something to eat. Not only were the team very caring of us, but also of our guest. Painters at the Angel holds a special place in our hearts and we are so grateful for all the work everyone put in to make our day so special.
Lovely little former pub now restaurant in the heart of the delightful town of Sudbury. Food and drink was very good and service was friendly and timely. I'd love to return.
Good tasty breakfast here. The quality was excellent and service was very good. Would advise booking if possible, although was lucky enough to get a table outside which was nice. Well run place. Hope to return soon😃
