We came here as a starting point for a friends surprise 50th, just a few couples. We mentioned to the manager and he brought a cake with candle and happy birthday written in chocolate on the plate for free. Great touch. Thank you

Didn't know this existed. My daughter took me and my cousin there. Barman was wonderful even though he had his arm in a sling .We had a v pleasant hour.
Went back nxt day...there was going to be a function on but the lovely lady on duty said it was alright to come and sit and have a drink...We did and again the lovely atmosphere...freindly staff member..made a gr8 hour or so. We will be back. Thanx to the really lovely staff....and the lovely atmosphere...Violet Curry

Staff so friendly. Gorgeous gin from their distillery on site, on the most gorgeous bottles.
Lovely view out over the pier, as we were having food.

Nice place. Nice staff. Ok vegan options. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I like to eat food and enjoy company without having to shout over a Northern Soul DJ who wouldn't be out of place at a working men's club sixth form do.
He really was unbearable. If that's what people like, fair enough. Not for me.

The poetic licence bar is half of the Roker hotel, from inside it has fantastic views over Roker beach and the lighthouse!, It has a lovely atmosphere and, a good menu , the staff were fantastic, very attentive and friendly, two small minus points were the VERY busy car park and the portion size of my meal( which was very tasty), great selection of alcoholic drinks/ wines, bottled lager's, cider's etc, all in all really enjoyed it and I'll definitely go again!

Ate here last night for Christmas work night. The service was outstanding, food excellent, extensive choice of drinks. Really festive feel about the place, looked lovely. Highly recommend a visit.
