Absolutely epic. Great food, great beer, fantastic service....it's always been a wonderful pub, but somehow it's better now than it's ever been. Can't recommend it enough! Looking forward to coming back to try something different.

Relaxed and very friendly staff, absolutely beautiful setting and the home made food was delicious and well presented!! The children ate every last bite and so did we. Would recommend the Sauvignon Blanc NZ and the Malbec. Look forwards to our next visit.

Lovely pub just down from Beeston Castle, well worth the extra walk/drive. We were doing the Sandstone Trail. Very hospitable, and definitely went the extra mile for us👍. Hope to go back soon. We didn't have time for food unfortunately.

We have just come back from a fantastic weekend with family and friends camping at the Shady’s campsite. What a lovely campsite. There are toilets and showers and a washing up station. Electric hook up available too! We enjoyed drinks by the canal in the beer garden and a fabulous meal. Everyone loved their food. Delicious! All the staff are amazing! Thank you for having us! We will be back soon!

Adam, Adam, ADAM!👏👏👏👏👏 Happened to bring our narrowboat on my hubbys' birthday on 19th August, and Adam accommodated us at short notice @TheShady. As THE SHADY, now has new owners 💯💯💯 (the previous owners' food was 🤢) I had the seabass stirfry🥰, with hubby having the beef burger🥰. Then i had the cheesecake to follow❤️. The food was that GOOD, we turned up the following day for 😂Sunday roast(20.08.23), which was lush! (We re Welsh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿). Out on the boat again this weekend, which was topped off by Sunday roast today(27.08.23). Again, accommodated by Adam. Again, the food has been OUTSTANDING!, and the customer service was OUTSTANDING! And warm + friendly, + efficient service, keeps bringing us back again + in the future! Not forgetting, the Biscoffe Cheesecake, which is siblime!!! 😋 We will be back AGAIN!!! Tell Adam, you know Jaime+Helen 😉 As a business owner, we know what an asset to a business prole like ADAM can be!!! TOTALLY RECOMMENDED!!! Go visit The Shady + go see Adam!!!!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Had a wonderful 3 night stay at The Shady with my wife daughter and little dog. It Started with our car getting stuck but the staff helped us tremendously and a local helped us get our car out - caveat we have had A LOT of rain but once we’d got our tent up we had some food at the pub we’d forgotten about it. It was our second visit and the food and service was exceptional and we felt very relaxed. The next night we ate and we were joined by my parents and some of our close friends so our table ended up being a table of 11 - great night food again was great (could have eaten 2 portions of the spam fritters) and the staff were fantastic, even our 1 star bar man kept us entertained us and made sure we had what we needed (he was great he’ll get the joke!) and we ended the night with family and friends laughing and feeling very happy. Throughly recommend the pub the food and drinks and the campsite is great, views and location 10/10 and the toilets super clean - great few days thank you

Recently re-opened, we received a warm and enthusiastic welcome. Good beers and although we didn’t have a meal the food looked great. Dogs and children welcomed. There is a large seating area outside.

Visited The Shady on Tuesday 17th Oct. Stunning location on the canal and with views of Beeston castle and rolling Cheshire countryside. Sun was shining which always helps. Around 12.45 when I arrived. Staff were very friendly. Ordered a Flat white coffee which was perfect. Looks like staff have been practising their latte art which always adds to a good coffee experience 👌☕️ Nice relaxed atmosphere in the pub too. I wasn’t planning on lunch there but soon changed my mind when I saw a few meals come from the kitchen landing on tables nearby. I chose the sesame fried chicken starter and fancied the breads, olive oil and balsamic glaze too. The sesame chicken came coated in Panko crumb with coriander, pepper and chilli slaw and a generous spoonful of slightly spiced Mayo. The crusty bread with olive oil and balsamic went perfect with it too. I’d recommend this combo it was really good. All I needed was to wash it down with a nice pint from the selection of cask ales, but alas I was driving and had to head back to the office. (All good things come to an end I guess) Will definately revisit, with family maybe for a Sunday lunch as was recommended to me by the 2 couples on the next table, who also told me the pub has recently come under new management. Doing a good job whoever they are. Hidden gem this. A great Cheshire pub See you soon
