Plenty of food and drink to choose from. Fresh cakes chilled drinks and hot drinks available. I’d advise getting a drink first before entering the museum. Toilets are located in here also. Plenty of seating inside and out. If you sit outside there is plenty of lovely scenery with a fast flowing river to watch. Staff are very friendly and it is a clean restaurant.

Pleasant restaurant which is part of the motor museum. Decent range of good quality food including gluten free sandwiches. Pleasant service. It was wet when we were there but the outside seating area has good views. The non gluten free rolls were a bit crumbly apparently (the GF ones were fine). And please get some decent serviettes!

Fabulous chef cooked meals. We visited Ambio 3 times in 1 week during our week in the Lake District. It has a beautiful terrace overlooking a fast river. Ample free parking and next door to the motor museum (also worth a visit). Vegan food was truly exceptional. I had the dhal with cauliflower (twice) and the houmus flat bread.

Good quality food, prices are what I’d expect to pay for where it is situated. Can get busy at lunchtime or when a coach load arrives. Have had breakfast and lunch here a couple of times and really enjoyed it. A bit of a wait for food but nothing too long. Nice staff and the food is of a really good quality. Sit inside or outside next to the river. Well worth calling in if you’re passing for a cake and coffees or a larger meal.

Great food. Lovely atmosphere. The scones were worth the wait of 10 minutes. Fresh out of the oven. Absolutely mouthwatering!!

An excellent cafe in a brilliant setting. If it's a nice day I recommend sitting outside and watching and listen to the water flowing down the river. If you have a day with nothing to do and nowhere to go, just standing on the bridge contemplating the lovely surroundings whilst the water marches relentlessly onward is a rare delight. Inside the cafe the staff are all very friendly including with out excitable Springer Spaniel Max who got lots of attention :) The food and service was top notch, after visiting a nearby restaurant a few days before and having a bad experience this was the polar opposite. Everyone loved the food and we left stuffed and very happy, the triple fried chips I would recommend!

What a great Cafe. We only had coffees and cake but they were most helpful with our specific requests on the coffees. The cakes were great, I wish I could have sampled more. There were toilets inside the cafe at the bottom left of the seating area. Lovely views of the river, it's just a shame we couldn't sit outside due to the weather.

Myself and partner came here as we was hungry and was visiting the motor museum next door. First impression was that it was nice, went to enquire about getting a milkshake. Told me that we can make a milkshake from any of the ice creams in the freezer by the door. Was surprised as not many people do this. Ordered my milkshake and partner ordered his drink we ordered our food we thought it was expensive and was hoping was made to order and is proper decent food. We was certainly impressed! partner had a hot dog and I had the double patty burger. Can tell it was made from local meat. The burgers was nice and juicy and partners hot dog sausage was huge and so flavourful! It was superb ! If your debating whether to come here, just go! Its worth it!

What a wonderful top quality cafe. Fast Food… No 😳. Traditional food with a modern twist, clearly each dish lovingly prepared by chefs. Locally sourced produce. Friendly and helpful staff. It’s fantastic that it’s on the same site as the Lakeland Motor Museum.
