Trattoria Romana South

A few years ago, I had the pleasure of dining at Trattoria Romana North and was blown away by the food and service. Today, I finally had the chance to try the Trattoria Romana South location in Wakefield, and I'm happy to report that it was equally impressive. The atmosphere at Trattoria Romana South is warm and inviting, with a cozy dining room and romantic lighting. Our server, Jeremy, was attentive and knowledgeable, and he made our dining experience even more enjoyable. To start, we ordered the mussels appetizer special, which was absolutely delicious. The mussels were cooked perfectly and the broth was flavorful and savory. For our main courses, my wife ordered the eggplant Parmesan and I chose the rigatoni al forno. The eggplant Parmesan was massive and perfectly cooked, with a crispy breading and a gooey, melted cheese topping. The rigatoni al forno was also excellent, with perfectly al dente pasta, a rich and flavorful tomato sauce, and homemade meatballs that melted in my mouth. Overall, our dining experience at Trattoria Romana South was exceptional. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was romantic and inviting. We cannot wait to go back soon!

All 13 of us enjoyed our evening at this establishment. Maureen was wonderful and extremely accommodating. Our server was great as well. It is nice to see employees all working together. It was also nice to see Scott, a childhood friend for many of us, from many years ago. Thanks for being so accommodating.

I had a girls weekend at Rhode Island and we were looking for a place to eat a good meal. This place blew us out of the water. I don’t really leave reviews but I felt like this place deserved it. Our waitress was great! All the staff were very friendly. The food was delicious!! I am a foodie so I can be very critical but I couldn’t find anything to complain with this place. All I can say is you need to really try this place.

I always get the Rigatoni Forno when I go here. The service is great and they've got the food to match. Large menu, which is normally a red flag for lack of freshness, but that's not the case here. The Tiramisu is really good. My partner had the pork chop special, good, and cooked to perfection. My only dig is that they say they make their own sausage, which I question only because they only serve it julienned. I got it that way when I asked for it on the side. Taste was good, though. The marinara was decent, might have some cream in it because it wasn't a deep red, which I'm not a fan of, but the taste was good. If you're looking for an Italian restaurant that is higher class and good food to match, this is a very good option.

Possibly my all time favorite restaurant. Phenomenal Italian food and a great martini selection. While you can find comparable quality at other places in Cranston and Federal Hill, the ambiance is what really sets this restaurant apart. It has a very warm and cozy feel. Located toward the back of South County Commons. Get reservations if you can.
