Hands down our favorite restaurant in the state. I have tried every appetizer on the menu and love them all but have always ordered a lobster roll for my entree. The lobster roll is very generously filled with fresh chunks of lobster that is delicately tossed in a light mayo. The grilled hot dog roll takes it to the next level and I always pair it with French fries that are freshly fried. I’ve dined twice with children (a toddler and infant) and have been sat at a quiet room inside that was half bench and half table which was perfect for my toddler and allowed plenty of space to park the stroller next to it. The ramps in and out of the restaurant were easy to use although a bit tight it is handicap accessible. The upstairs dining area on the other hand is not handicapped accessible to my knowledge.

The calamari, poke bowl, salmon, linguine and clams were all amazing! The food is so delicious. Valet parking only but they don't charge for it, valet guys are tips based. Seating at the tables near the windows in the fall get chilly but they do have heaters at each table. Highly recommended, even the kiddos loved the food here!

I was very excited to eat here and it met and exceeded every single one of my expectations.
The service - wonderful. Our waitress was patient and attentive. She made wonderful suggestions and gently encouraged us to try raw oysters, which was sometime neither my partner or I had done before. They were so good!
The food - absolutely wonderful. Everything was delicious. The raw oysters were sweet and briny. The cocktail sauce tasted homemade, it was delicious. The oysters Rockefeller were savory, buttery, and oh so rich. The stuffed baked lobster was mind blowing. It was literally the whole lobster de-shelled for you then stuffed back inside the shell with scallops and shrimp and topped with the most delicious and buttery seafood stuffing I ever had. It truly was a great "foodie moment". The type where you take your first bite and remember that bite forever. You don't get too many of those. The portion sizes were HUGE too. I couldn't believe such fine food was served so generously. My main course took up an entire plate and the potatoes and vegetables had to be served on their own plate. The vegetables were also AMAZING. All freshly grown on the restaurants farms. My partners pasta dish quite literally fed her for four meals. It was huge and she loved it. Our only regret was that the portions were so big... we couldn't find room for dessert! We will need to return! Those around us ordered dessert and they looked splendid! And were just as generously portioned as everything else.
The price - this is what shocked me. Compared to other restaurants in the area, it was extremely affordable. We couldn't believe the quality and amount of food we got for the price paid.
All in all Matunuck Oyster Bar is phenomenal. Mind blowing. With the freshness and quality, the generosity of the portions, and the modest pricing you can tell that absolutely everyone that works there takes pride in their job.

Such a cool place to hang out and get your oyster and clam fix. Terrific drinks. Get reservations. This place is so popular and fills up quick. Have never seen a restaurant with cars backed up waiting to get in on a Monday night.

visited for the first time this past weekend and had a lovely experience! We were seated down by the water; tried my first ‘quahog stuffie’ & had the most amazing lobster roll! highly recommend if you’re visiting Rhode Island and want an elevated coastal restaurant experience!

I've been coming here for years because it is one of the best restaurants in the area for fine dining. Consistently good food with a menu that rightfully highlights seafood- especially their oysters! Plenty of options for those that don't like seafood. For those that do like seafood, you won't be disappointed. Over the years I've not had a bad meal here. Reservations are a must at peak times especially in the summer and they often book well in advance. This last experience was still good overall, but one entree came out hotter than the sun while the other was clearly not as warm and likely had been sitting for a while as the other was being prepared. Both were edible and delicious. The roof top tables offer a great view and are quieter than other areas- just be aware that there is no shade up top.

We love this place, stopped in for lunch on my wife's birthday last week. Had some starters, the oyster trio, and some additional oysters and cherry stones from the raw bar, all fantastic. For entrees my wife had the seared scallops and I was super jealous! They were cooked perfectly, and the dish overall went very well together. Non traditional, but amazing for sure. She paired it with a nice Chardonnay, which was just right. I had the fried scallops with truffle fries and again cooked perfectly, nice delicate batter, and sweet flavor. Paired with my pour of Pappy it went perfectly!
Our server was also nice enough to sneak out a breakfast dessert for my wife, it was a brownie Sunday, and she absolutely loved it...as did I😁

Believe the hype and worth the trip. Great menu of food and yes, plenty of oyster options. Standout plates included oyster stew & Yellow fin tuna (blackened); everything was some level of delicious. Outside and inside dining options. Steamers and Oyster Po Boy pictured.

Lively atmosphere and interesting crowd, somewhat lavish. Valet parking was convenient. We walked in and found a counter spot overlooking the reserved dining area below; the bar and counter area were more casual. Drinks were surprisingly reasonably priced; food was not cheap, but it was delicious. The scallops in ginger sauce were my favorite, and of course the raw oysters were great.

This restaurant is a must visit when in South Kingstown. We went on the oyster tour which shows where the restaurant grows their own oysters. Wow! We were insanely impressed with the the taste and quality of the food here. The service and ambiance is exceptional. There is also valet service which is nice. I will make it my mission to come here any time I’m visiting Rhode Island. 10/10 hands down!
