Excellent service from staff, hands on manager, she was checking all is well with food. Other staff very attentive too. Had food, 2 friends, the beef and ale pie very good and my katsu curry was excellent, very quick and efficient service …. Will most definitely visit again

Christmas dinner. 2025 . I can honestly say this place today exceeded all expectations, staff were all brilliant , food was delicious and the vibe was great in the restaurant! Thank you so much ! Definitely recommend ! Value for money 100% and would definitely come here again for Christmas!

We had Christmas lunch there yesterday. The staff were exceptional. Fun, friendly, and politely efficient. The meal was properly cooked, good value, and well presented. All-in-all they made the whole meal a relaxing, fun, and an enjoyable experience.
A big pub, easy to find on the outskirts of Wantage. Plenty of parking available. Lots of seating both outside and inside. Good choice of drinks at the bar. Menu choices were good and service was quick. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Food portions very adequate. Overall a pleasant experience, and we will be returning.
Christmas lunch at The Nelson was absolutely delicious. I am not a big eater but ate the LOT! And the portions were huge - but I couldn't resist any of it. Great staff too. Highly recommended. Well done to you all.
