Mike's Clam Shack

We have been coming to Mike's for YEARS and always very happy with our food. The Lobster Stew is basically a full lobster (or more) in a cup and if you're eating in, you NEED to order the Lobster Mac and Cheese.... I'm forever ordering takeout though so I can hit the beach, watch the waves, and stuff my face full of that Stew and fried seafood. Seriously the best way to enjoy a meal on the Maine Coast.

Great atmosphere friendly waitstaff delicious food, it is pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. Lobster Mac and Cheese was exceptional I had about 5 full size claws and some chunks mixed in with the creamy Mac and cheese. My other half got the fried clams medium portion with onion rings which was a great amount of both. Will definitely be back

Stopped here for lunch on our way to York Harbor. Lots of cars in the parking lot, which we took to be a good sign. The dining room was full so we sat in the bar area. Outside seating was also available. Service was excellent. I had steamers, which were delicious, and my husband had the lobster stew, which was chock full of lobster. I am already planning our next visit!

I normally don’t rate places like this a 5 that are not fine dining or extraordinary experiences, but for what Mike’s is it’s a solid dining option, especially with specific selections. Examples: 1. Cup of lobster stew is light with almost 1 lb. of lobster meat 2. Turkey dinner is two meals, alway tender, juicy and fresh. Both great values. Prime rib & Steamers are also stars on the menu. The menu is large with diverse choices to accommodate whatever mood your in. Focus on seafood obviously but so many other things to choose. Tons of beers on tap, big drink and dessert specials. Weekly dinner specials and Happy Hour deals. Great service tops it off. <added photos from subsequent visits>

Did not care very much for this place. Not quite sure how the steaks were cooked. They seemed pale; not grilled or flamed broiled. Not very appetizing. The desserts were just ok. I generally don't take photos of eaten food, but this was a must to get a true picture of what was served. Maybe the cook was having a bad night.
