Wells Beach Lobster Pound

It was a cloudy cool day, June 1st 2022... We decided to head out in search of some tasty Fish & Chips... Well let me start by saying that we found it... It's not that it's hard to find Fish & Chips around here... Just about every restaurant sells it... However, we were struck by the prices.. LOL.. Now we know that we are in a touristy area so we weren't expecting it to be dirt cheap... But 25$ plus each for Fish & Chips just seemed a bit high for lunch at most places... Just as we were ready to give up and drive to McDonald's.. LOL, we found the Walls Beach Lobster Pound... SO HAPPY we did... ❤️ $16 for the large Fish & Chips.. (ya, we can eat.. lol) and it was fresh .. tasty... Delicious in fact... We ate outside... Listening to the ocean crashing on the shore... It was a perfect meal.. No fancies here.. but totally authentic.... Google it.. easy to find... Lots of parking... Beautiful views with great service and food...

If you're looking to load up on lobster 🦞 look no further. The Wells Beach Lobster Pound is just too cool, don't expect fine dining, rather look forward to a lobster experience. First pick your lobster/lobster size and see your fresh shellfish picked out from their live pools! We went with the three pounders and they were huge! Then they will cook up and prepare your whole lobster. While you wait get a beer, some fried clams, steamers, or some of their riotous clam chowder. Finally you'll get to dig into the whole lobster, cooked to perfection. It may be a bit messy but nothing is fresher, also three pounds of lobster 🦞 goes a long way! Come hungry, I know that I'll be back soon.

Sure anyone can cook lobster, but they cook it right with the best prep I’ve seen in a while. My son and I shared a twin lobster. They pre-cut it just right. Clam Chowder had great flavor with the right amount of clams. The crab cake sandwich was crispy on the outside with great amount of crab chunks. They had plenty of seating outdoors and indoors. I recommend even using the take out and bringing back to the beach. Service was quick and very friendly.

The Wells Lobster Pound has been our go to restaurant in Maine. My wife's family bought cottages in Wells 35 years ago and they've come regularly since; I've been cooking every year or so for the past decade. The food is great and the staff are all friendly and helpful. All prices have risen in the region and they have stayed competitive. The seafood is obviously as fresh as possible, with most lobsters literally trapped right outside they're shop! Everything is great.
