Gorgeous pub when you walk on through past the first bar into the main bar with the high beamed medieval ceiling - really impressive and, being quite chapel-like, seems to inspire an almost hushed and reverential tone among many (though not all!) punters. For the most part, though, a nice boozer rather than a gastropub.
Great pub found by accident walking down the side street. What a find! Friendly and efficient service, nice selection of drinks and very spacious. Great atmosphere, and full of character too! Food delicious - Highly recommend the burgers, worth every penny!
Very slow.. meal took 1hr to come to table. Beef, very tuff, mash potato, pea's and green beans thats all, beige and green not good. Needed some carrots to give some colour. we were meant to have stuffing but not available when ask for …
What a great place - warm - cosy - clean - amazing beef dish with LOADS of veg - Crystal the bar maid swung us the meal just as the kitchen had closed - REALLY appreciated that!!! Lovely atmosphere - can't wait to go back xxxx
Lovely old pub with great atmosphere, but the experience stops there. Unwelcoming and short service, long wait for food (around 40min for 3 small meals) and the food itself was so so. Might come back for a beer if they had a better selection, but only one tap ale was available when we were there.
Crystal is an amazing land lady who looks after her staff and customers well above and beyond. Her care for customer and staff safety really shines. Every other member of staff show all the examples of perfect customer service care also!
