This is our favourite pub in Whitby and always our first port of call. The staff are friendly and helpful. The beer is first rate and the Quoff and Scoff menu is excellent. It’s not just my fave Whitby pub it is one of my fave pubs anyway
We initially were just walking past early Saturday morning drawn by the advertising boards outside. We came back after a trip to Sandsend the pub was buzzing and had a huge real open fire, the Endeavour doesn't do food but allow clients to bring in fish and chipsin even providing sauces, salt, vinegar and forks all they ask is you dispose of your boxes in the bins provided over the road. BTW the security guy is a hoot, this wont be our last visit as you are now on our pub trail.
Lovely friendly pub. We love it here. Stayed 3 nights over the weekend, nothing too much trouble, staff so accommodating and super friendly, dog friendly and can stay in rooms too. Our dog Charlie loves it here and feels so at home, we've stayed in the past, just had a fantastic few days here and will be back again soon hopefully. Take in your own fish n chips or food and enjoy in comfort with a lovely beer, all they ask is that you take your rubbish away with you. So close to all the lovely shops and beach and the 199 steps to Abbey and St Mary's Church. A fabulous place!
Super spacious room and bathroom, so much room for activities.
The room was bright and fresh with a shabby chic feel. We loved it! Great view through the big windows of the harbour and waking up to the view made it perfect. The bed amazing comfort, didn't want to get out of it!
The bar is nice, plenty of room (the building looks tiny) and a good selection of drinks on offer (no in-house food, but you can take your fish&chips in, which is a great idea)
Very friendly and helpful staff
Perfect location, everything well within walking distance
We loved our stay, and would stay there again in a heartbeat (it will be our 1st choice, every time from now)
10/10
Can't comment on the accommodation but the bar was spacious, fairly quiet midafternoon (on a Thursday), range of decent beers, and 13 of us got served quickly. It's a good location for the harbour and close to number of recommended fish and chip restaurants. It's one of our regular haunts in Whitby and can happily recommend for a drink.
Just stayed 3 nights, my room was basic and a bit rough around the edges but clean.
They don't top up milk/tea bags ect, I found them on the window cill on a lower level so had to wash my cup out each day as they don't get replaced each day. They leave crisps and bottled water outside your room each day.
However, the pub part is fab, excellent bar staff and very friendly. Good selection of beers, as they don't have a kitchen they allow you to take them in.
Overall I enjoyed my stay at at £60 a night in Whitby it was good value.
Always a friendly welcome. A good choice of drinks. Lots of good entertainment during Folk Festival week.
You can take in your own food, buy a drink and enjoy yourself.
Brilliant little pub. Came here for a drink, atmosphere was brilliant, staff were friendly. The prices were reasonable. The wood fire was nice and warm. You could See the harbour from the window which was nice. Couldn't fault it.
Had lovely few hours and drinks first time I've been in but will definitely go back x
This lovely pub is full of character, lots of interesting olde world sayings stencilled on walls and ceiling joists.
During the colder months there is a warm welcoming open log fire roaring away in the open hearth, it is also dog and child friendly.
There is a fantastic choice of draught beers, ciders, not forgetting the choice of gins, cocktails and other spirits.
There is a small cold food selection, including locally sourced pork pies and seafood platters.
Your more than welcome to bring in your locally purchased fish and chips from the numerous fish and chip shops, the staff will provide you with utensils and condiments.
There are a few cosy en-suite rooms at very reasonable cost (best booking in advance).
There is frequently live music over the weekends.
The landlady Maria and her staff always offer a warm welcome, coupled with lots of good local knowledge to help you have a great experience.
Maria and her pub actively support and fund raise for the Royal National Life Boat Institute (RNLI).
We were visiting Whitby from nearby Ravenscar. We took our chippy dinners into this pub which actively encourages you to do so (sign on front). I had a pint of Rosie's pig cloudy cider and my husband a pint of Erdinger. Really old, cosy pub and very welcoming.
