I came here a few times during my short stay in whitby. The atmosphere is really friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed a chat with several people in here. The bar staff were amazing with recommendations and very easy to chat to.
They don't serve food but the lager and cider on draught were so delicious I had 6 pints 😳 I really enjoyed the atmosphere, there were loads of lovely people to chat to. The bar staff worked hard ensuring you were served promptly and they were great fun and excellent at what they do. We will return.. .

I've been visiting this pub for more years than I care to remember. It's changed hands numerous times in those years, and changed beers almost as many times (I think it was Cameron's when I first used it)
Yet regardless of all that it remains one of the warmest and friendliest pubs in a warm and friendly town.
We can't really fault the place, the atmosphere, the quality of its beers, and especially it's staff!

Its as cosy as you could make it within the current guidelines. The staff are as friendly and attentive as you could wish for. The beer whilst a little pricey is top quality (of which i am happy to pay a premium for a properly looked after and pulled pint). No need to book just turn up and see if there is a space available. We will certainly return for a pint the next time we are in Whitby.
Very busy as it was the Steampunk weekend but nice pub. On the smaller side. Entertainment was on, a guy singing which was good. Staff were friendly and obliging.
Great atmosphere for a Sunday evening. Live music and Whitby gin. Had a lovely chat with the locals too. Brilliant evening.
Called in at our last place before travelling home the next morning, so glad we did excellent service brilliant place and wow what a singer.. made the end of our break blooming brilliant
