Very chilled and friendly atmosphere with open fires and quirky decor. Lots of effort has gone into making this a great place to relax for a few drinks, with a massive choice of craft beers and an impressive food menu. After a mix up with our food order, the owners quickly rectified the issue and gave us a free round of drinks for the inconvenience. Can't wait to visit the new bar opening in Keswick on our next visit to the Lakes.

Marvellous! The food was excellent. They offer a great menu all with children’s portions as an option. They also made food to request- so in my child’s case cheese on toast. My husband and I happily tucked into a Huge artisan platter with a fabulous taste selection. They have a hand selected choice of 80 odd whiskeys and a great selection of beer. A very interesting environment- great fun and character. Great value for money Vegan and veg options too Thanks

What a great little bar this is. Unbelievable choice of craft ales and good beer on tap. Spent a few hours in here in front of the roaring real fire. Great bar to visit, and live music on regularly. We'll be back.

We happened on this little gem by pure chance. From the outside we were not sure that we should go in but i needed the toilet so we ventured inside. It is one of the best bars we have been in for some time. Great atmosphere, great music, the staff were superb and the most important part is that the beer is good with a great choice.

This quirky little pub was right up our alley, a bit different, a bit special, cosy, great selection of beers and gins.

After a bad experience somewhere else in town we headed here pretty deflated. However, great staff, great beers and lovely quirky setting Definitely worth a visit

2 x third pint glasses for £7.60, works out to £10.40 a pint!!! Too embarrassed to tell them to stuff it! Never again!

Visited in Dec whilst we stayed locally visiting family. My uncle was keen to show me this ace bar though I left feeling confused. As an avid ale and especially craft beer drinker, it seems like the concept would work better on the continent rather than the lakes. Drinks are in 1/2 or schooners and are quite expensive. Service was slow and empty glasses were not cleared, we went Sat eve and it was busy and the bar did look short staffed. BIG positive is the fridges full of different european beer, lots of german and belgian beer. Some strong favourites too, which I had when i worked in Belgium so was nice to see. Prices are keen but can't argue with the choice. Didn't try the food but looked to be small sharing plates.

Came here on a Friday night and we were fortunate to time our arrival to get a table, it was rammed! We had read the great reviews about the beer and food and weren’t disappointed. Having been on a long walk we arrived starving so after a few beers ordered the nachos sharer as a starter then the meat and cheese platter. There was no need for the Nachos! We polished the huge pile of nachos, fully loaded with cheese, sour cream, guacamole and salsa then the meat and cheese platter arrived. Sadly despite it being amazing we were so stuffed we couldn’t finish it all. There was loads to eat with a great selection of ales, ciders and gins. Would recommend to all

I have been here a few times now. Boy what a find. The selection, the service. Love the place. It's a real gem. Thank you. I'll be back again.

Not sure what their idea was with this business, some ideas work whilst the others like the smallest bar in the lakes certainly doesn't as it would make more sense to increase the bar area as there is little room for eating. Cosy certainly, food OK, but I always thought that beer must be served in pint or half pint and a price list on display. How do they get around that? I certainly expected a pint for my £4 but got only a schooner of indeterminate volume. This makes the beer very expensive and quite honestly not anything special. Worth a quick visit certainly but that's about it.

I recently stayed in Windermere with a large group of friends. We sat outside The Crafty Baa which is a great pub with a great atmosphere. The beer/lager options are good. The crisps you get in the little bowls with your drink is a nice touch. The interior and the real fire is lovely and the toilets were exceptionally clean. We unfortunately did not try the food. The only negative was the outdoor heaters were not working so it was a little cold when sitting outside.

great quirky pub on 2 floors we went in on the saturday night and was pretty quiet but the sunday had live music and was totally different it was a great atmosphere with locals and tourists having a dance the place is small so i think in the summer it will get packed we had a good time and will definitely return next time we are in windermere

We've been 3 times now as a group of 2 couples and its not lived up to expectations. I appreciate they are trying to be a bit different, but they seem to be trying to please too many different people with the menu and drinks on offer. The service was pleasant, but the whole place seems to be a confused miss match of a concept. On our last visit we were told there was a 45 minute wait for a scone. The menu when we visited today was very difficult to read and again is a bit confused. That said, one of our party ordered the camembert stuffed ciabatta which was enjoyed. The beer selection was pretty poor today, so if you actually like craft ale then I think you're better to go to Beer Ambleside.

What a superb little bar, we had only just arrived in Windermere and noticed this quirky little place. Friendly staff and an extensive range of craft beers, at reasonable prices. Will certainly be going again!!!

Visited whilst staying in Windermere for a couple of days over the Christmas break after reading really good reviews on Tripadvisor. It is such an unusual place with lots of tiny rooms all very cosy - we sat in the haunted roomwith two skeletons at the next table! where the ceiling was adorned with lots of upside down lampshades & had lots of dolls in it with various horiffic injuries!! Initially we just had a couple of drinks but then decided to eat here as the menu looked quite interesting. We opted for the sharing platter of cheeses, cold meats & salad which came with a pot of melted camembert (various different flavourings to choose from) with garlic, olive oil & sunblush tomatoes. Wow!! - it was so tasty, accompanied by a large plateful of very crusty bread all washed down with a very nice bottle of Merlot; the bill for this was £40 which we thought was reasonable. Would definitely recommend a visit if staying in the area - we will certailnly go back!
