The food at ‘Hooked’ was about as good as food can be. Great quality, fresh ingredients, simple and uncomplicated but cooked to perfection. The service also deserves a mention, it was quiet when we visited as it was very early evening but that is often when restaurant service is at it’s weakest due to reduced staff numbers. The only member of staff we saw was Michael the owner but he could not have been more attentive.
Amazing. Was my first visit to Hooked and I will certainly be going back. The food was such good quality, best fish restaurant I've ever been to. Would recommend the monkfish tail with soft shell crab.
What a fantastic restaurant! Great food, great service and a great location. My partner and I found the restaurant on trip advisor and booked as soon as we saw the menu and positive reviews. I would highly recommend for all seafood lovers and would happily go again.
I have to say this place is BETTER than most of the Michelin seafood restaurants in London! We have been to several Michelin places in London so we know how they are overrated and overpriced, this Hooked is absolutely worth a trip. We ordered one lobster and one salmon, they put so much effort into there food, it tasted amazing it looked amazing! Also their dessert is so good! We came to this local restaurant without any higher expectations, we thought it just a normal local seafood restaurant, but the food completely changed our minds!
Great food, however, extremely tourist taxed… would be great if they offered a locals discount to avoid paying the crazy’s prices local businesses charge for the tourist trade.
Service was great, young lass serving on her own.
What a fantastic restaurant within the region, serving excellent seafood, with good quality and surprise cooking method. The main dish “Scallop, Crayfish & Prawn Gratin” is absolutely an art piece, with mouth watering sauce which really elevate the crayfish. The Salt Cod Croquettes is also highly recommended.
Excellent seafood. The place is small and quaint, so book to avoid disappointment. It may be better to reserve an earlier time if you want something specific on the menu, as several items were no longer available later in the evening. This did not detract from our experience!
The seared scallops with samphire and shallot puree was excellent. As were the cod croquettes.
The seabass (replacement for sea bream) was outstanding - so irresistible, I didnt get a photo in time! The forestier potatoes, grilled leek and cashew puree were worthy accompaniments.
Highly recommended!
We absolutely loved Hooked! It is a small, intimate restaurant with around 10 tables. The Dover Sole was absolutely spectacular, and my sea bass was delectable. My wife enjoyed the salmon with perfectly grilled vegetables. The service was wonderful and we felt so welcome in this awesome restaurant.
Descent sea food restaurants provide high quality services, tasty and fresh food, and it seems quite popular here.
We ordered the catch of the day - half lobster. And sea bream. All good :)
This is a must try in Windermere! U can’t miss it.
The pomme forestière as a side dish of roast sea bream is absolutely fantastic. Mussels are buttery but still nice to try.
The food was really good at this restaurant The only thing I will say is the bottle of Coke with the white labels and not original Coke change them for the one with the red labels
