Came here for some lunch earlier this week, very nice little place, very friendly and polite staff and a very well stocked bar. My wife had the goat's cheese salad from the specials menu and thoroughly enjoyed it, I had the club sandwich which was also excellent. Great deal as well, £7 for a pint and a glass of prosecco.

I rarely write reviews but this bar is just too good. Really amazing food, also good value for money. Lovely atmosphere and decorations, good service. I went there two times during my stay in the Lake District.

Friendly and helping staff, we ordered 8 different dishes and a couple of starters an everything arrived hot and on time. I really recommend the housemade burgers! Definetly coming back soon!!

Description on menus doesn't match what arrives on the plate i.e. thick cut chips with dips to share turned out to be Iceland french fries in a bowl with no dips, forks or serviettes. After a quizzing the staff we got a bottle of Tommy sauce plonked on the table. Only a disappointment if 40 french fries costs £7.00...

Excellent food, iffy service.
We were extremely impressed with the food which was well above the standard we expected when we walked in. Diabolo Burger was tasty, nicely blackened on the outside but not overcooked. Fish and Chips were fantastic, crispy batter, perfect chips and tartar sauce. The Dirty Cow beer (larger) is also highly recommended.
Service was average. Not particularly friendly or professional but the food made up for it.
