It’s our first visit to York and we’ve not been disappointed.
My son has food allergies and other food issues related to his Asperger’s Syndrome so eating out can be difficult.
Not only were the staff incredibly knowledgeable and helpful but the food was AMAZING.
We both had rib-eye steak and just raised our eyes at each other with the first mouthful. The best steak we’ve ever had and the rest of the food was just as good too.
Our waiter told us the menu had been revamped recently with a view to being more mindful of allergies, vegans etc. Well done. It got s huge thumbs up from us.
It was also lovely to be able to know we could eat in an adult environment!
Had dinner here on Sunday as a party of 8. They’d put us in the private dining room which was probably for the best as we were quite noisy! The food was simply fantastic. Our waiter was knowledgeable of both the food and wine and he was great fun. I think we all had steak of some kind and every plate was clean. One thing worth mentioning... no cider. If cider is your tipple make sure you have a back up!
Super Steak!. We decided to try here after hearing good things about it and I also love the fact they use local Yorkshire produce.
We dropped in one lunchtime through the week, it was pretty quiet, but that didn’t detract from our experience and preferable to a packed high street chain elsewhere in the city centre.
I had the 40 day aged fillet steak (rare) and it was simply amazing, up there with the best steaks I have had anywhere in the world, the accompanying chips were ‘proper chips’ too!
Both meals were excellent, so good in fact we went again before we returned to Australia (I had the fillet steak again!)
Beautiful interior and ambience with attentive and knowledgeable staff. Lots of great wine options. I was recommended Shiraz by the waiter and it did not disappoint - Shiraz has now become my go-to choice when it comes to red wine.
Regarding their food menu, I think they have mastered their burger, which I believe should receive no less of recognition than their stakes. Their burger is packed full of flavour and its huge!
For a dessert, I highly recommend their sticky toffee pudding - it was the best sticky toffee I have ever had!

Absolutely delicious food, great choice of wine. What let the experience down was being in a small room with noisy people and overloud music. The Sunday lunch menu had some great options and was value for money.
One of our favourite restaurants we’ve visited in recent times. Everything from the starters to mains and cocktails was superb and faultless. Although the service was slick and efficient we didn’t felt rushed, even after finishing our meal. We’d like to thank our waiter Heather for the wonderful service and friendly hospitality she bought to the meal as well as her knowledge of the menu and dishes.
Although just visiting on a holiday, we would definitely return should we be in the area and would highly recommend to anyone. A true little gem in York! Tucked away in a beautiful venue!
Just wow! Visited for our anniversary last night and it was our first time visiting. Staff were lovely, it was a beautiful atmosphere and the cocktails and food is incredible. We both had the Tbone steak and the sides were really good portions too! We couldn't quite manage a dessert but the drinks were lovely. Definitely will come back here again next time we're in York!

Superb food, service and atmosphere. The staff were friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive.
It wouldn’t have been a location we would have found if it hadn’t been for research & recommendations. Definitely a great find and one to revisit when we return to York.
Beautiful little high end bar / restaurant. The bar was nicely busy giving a nice vibe. The restaurant primarily focus on steak dishes and they were cooked to perfection. The waitress (Heather) was very attentive, polite and friendly, so good my wife and I needed to ask her name to drop a thank you in a review :)
Starter so detailed. Service good Taste amazed me 😋. Will try out the steak section next time. The coffee ☕ not my blend. Over all good. 👍
Best meal I’ve had in a long time! Brilliant tasty food, friendly atmosphere and super friendly staff. Massive shoutout to Heather who went above and beyond during our meal and was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks pairings!

Amazing dog friendly resteraunt.
The food and service were brilliant.
If you want a high quality dog friendly resteraunt you won't find better.
The monks fish and sea bass were excellent as we're both the starters and deserts.
If your in York please give it a go, highly recommended.
