We decided to try the ramen at Mantis. The serving size was a bit smaller than I expected, especially considering the price. The ramen itself had a rich broth and an interesting combination of ingredients. However, it leaned towards being saltier than my taste preference, and I generally enjoy salty foods. This might not be an issue for everyone, as taste can be subjective, but I would have appreciated a better balance of flavors. Worth a visit.

Stopped by and grabbed a Pizza from RAD. As you know the margarita is the true test of a good pizza place. Base was crisp and light, tomato sauce sharp and tangy and despite not opting for the Buffalo mozzarella the cheese was tasty and stringy. My Neopolitan Italian friend would heartily approve and tge staff could not have been nicer.

When is a chain not a chain? My brother-in-law's career is all about creating new faux-niche restaurant chains based on the latest foodie fads; and to hear him talk it all sounds like a souless venture capitalist sausage machine. As such it cheers the soul knowing that at SPARK you are entering the realm of food & drink zeitgeists, geeks and nerds who want you to sample what they can give to the world, and at the same time knowing you are spending your money locally. It really is a great opportunity to pick & mix your food and try something different. If you can't find something you like here, you are officially soulless and can consider yourself shackled to the chains for life...

I visited Spark York in May 2023. In one word: Amazing! On this day, I sampled only the Rad pizzas, which were outstanding, boasting great value for money alongside quick service and welcoming staff. We saw some of the other stall’s food which also looked amazing - we will be looking to sample these on our next visit, which will hopefully be not too long!
