Post-parkrun breakfast. Lovely shady patio area, speedy service and delicious food. Pulled beef brisket hash was fab, definitely recommended 👌

We had a lovely birthday meal at the Fox and Roman this week. Despite it being incredibly busy, our waiter Sophie was attentive and on hand to make sure we were well looked after. The food was delicious, especially the sharing platter we ordered, and our daughter enjoyed her meal as well. Always a place we'll come to where we can guarantee quality every time 👍

The food was innovative and the flavors were lovely. There were some tasty dishes I hadn’t seen on other pub menus before. The staff were friendly and very attentive and polite. We were notified of a wait but it was as expected and was WORTH IT!! Also, the “Honey Pot” dessert was very good!
The atmosphere was lovely and the restaurant was clean and styled beautifully. It has a moody eclectic feel! My favorite part are the mismatched chairs. SO COOL!

We ordered right before the kitchen closed so I'm not gonna be too critical.
But if you are going to charge those kind of prices then something as simple as fries should be perfection and shouldn't look like they have been sat around in the kitchen all day. The chicken burger was excellent though.

food service stopped at 8. and we went too order at 8.05. The staff Ned! went too ask the chef if we could have anything. we said we'd have anything simple ane nothing was too much trouble. Ned was so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond.

Service was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Both of us enjoy our lunch. The lamb Sunday lunch was tender and very tasty according to my friend. I had the sea bass with and would definitely have that dish again. I really enjoyed it.

Came here for a parkrun brekkie. Lovely friendly staff and such a yummy vegan breakfast with beetroot hash browns.

Always a warm welcome and fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommend the food, which is always cooked to perfection with love and attention to detail. Service is always swift and friendly, and we always enjoy returning to our favourite spot in York.
