Attended the Garden Party event on Saturday - absolutely brilliant day. Loads to see and do and the weather was kind too. Great to see the whole centre doing so well and it being so busy with increased footfall and everyone enjoying it. Had a good chat with some staff from the Civic (never been in before) and, as a result, we have booked in for two shows in October. Happy days and looking forward to it.

We attended Barnsley Metropolitan Band’s BANDFEST at the Civic on Wednesday 18/10/23 and what a treat it was, featuring Grimethorpe Colliery Band, Grimethorpe Junior Band and Mapplewell & Wellgate Primary. They sounded terrific and we thoroughly enjoyed this super evening and I fully understand now why Grimethorpe Colliery Band has won so many awards. Well done to everyone who entertained us you did a great job. 👌😀👍

Thoroughly enjoyed Creepy Campfire Tales. There had clearly been a lot of effort put into this production. It was very professional for a Youth Theatre group. The sound, lighting and technical effects were to a very high standard. Very well put together and a perfect start to Halloween. Well done Barnsley Youth Theater.

Lovely venue Saw Show of Hands new show. As usual for these places no Brandy at the Bar. The only other criticism - Security staff NOT NEEDED and the one at the front messing with AND could hear her radio during performance. Totally un necessary to have SECURITY presence AT ALL especially idiot ones as above.

Great show first time seeing the Opera Boys and loved their banter and such beautiful voices. Added bonus what the Stagecoach kids. The one thing I did not like was the communal toilets - sincerely hope this is temporary.

Attended the Civic during Barnsley Live 2023. Excellent venue for music. Big enough to hold a decent crowd but small enough to get close. Sound and lights were excellent but they overdid the smoke. Thought I was seeing British Sea Power "making smoke".

We absolutely love Barnsley Civic theatre. The staff were every so helpful and great manners. The stage was well designed to see thorough the main stage. We came from Doncaster and it was very easy to find and park our car very close to he theatre.

A really enjoyable evening. The Opera Boys were brilliant. The 1st time we have been to the civic hall. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks.

Ok. Leg room is a little snug, but it wasn't full so i was able to stretch out sideways (I'm 6ft). Ticket prices very reasonable. Good act. Would recommend visiting.

Superb experience, probably helped by the fantastic set by John Robins - Howl. I would recommend people support our local venues such as the Civic. The one slight issue was the lack of my pre-ordered drink at the break as they sold them all before the show.
