First time visitor to The White Swan today. Came in quickly just before the sky's opened and chucked it down. Nice little sheltered outside area by entrance.
First impression - quiet, relaxed and warm.
Music at just the right level and relaxed type to just sit back and chill or have a conversation.
Everything is clean and tidy around the place. Atmosphere just right. Toilets fresh and can tell are well maintained.
Both of the staff serving at the bar are very friendly and approachable. Pint served cold and fresh - a very pleasant experience.
Just a quick visit this time being early afternoon - but will certainly be tempted to come for an evening meal sometime soon! Thanks for the warm welcome.
Great time relaxing with friends over a Sunday roast. Ample free parking and plenty of seating. Pictured are the Beef Roast (£19.00) and Trio of Roast, chicken, pork, beef (£21.00)
This place has been my new local for coming up to a year now, and I couldn't be happier with it. I come down at least a couple of times a week and it's always been incredibly friendly and welcoming. Decent selection on tap, some nice whiskeys, and while I'm no expert but my partner tells me the wine selection is great!
The Sunday Roast is stunning too, but I'd recommend booking in advance as it can sell out. All in all I recommend the place, especially in the winter months when the log fire is roaring.
We’ve been to the White Swan a few times now when visiting my daughter in Birmingham. It’s in a lovely spot and the atmosphere laid back and super friendly. Our server Molly went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and the food was cooked perfectly. We sat in a quiet corner of the main bar where even our Labrador puppy was catered for. We will definitely be back!
Absolutely gorgeous service from the staff.
My only regret is that I forgot to take a photo of our yummy food.
As a group of sight impaired and blind people.
Your staff went above and beyond to accommodate us by putting tables and chairs together for us.
I would recommend this place as a lovely place to have a social gathering.
I am hoping that we can get back for a Sunday roast dinner 😄😄
Great Sunday at White Swan, friendly greeting from the waitress. Ordered the Rib Eye steak which was nice along with fresh onion rings.
The service was good but I had to ask several times for water which got tedious but it eventually came. Other than that, great meal.
Celebrate birthday there. Xmas decor is already up. The place is nice, the food and service good. It was a busy Monday night we hadn’t expected, but the staff took care of us very well. The curry on the children's menu was a bit hot. The supervisor offered an extra rice to comfort the kid, very kind. The chocolate brownie sold out, and will be back again for this for sure!
Had a lovely late lunch with extended family today. Tasty food, good service, and we weren't rushed. The sea bass fillets were delicious. And I thoroughly recommend the (ample) mini desserts with tea or coffee. Servers were cheerful. Especially Josh, who was happy to explain the cricket report my daughter was trying to share with my mother-in-law. Will definitely return.
Overall: This place does a mighty Sunday Roast but has some service issues.
I think the service and staff could use a bit of work as I was ignored for several minutes and had to chase down staff three times for basic things like, being seated, getting a menu and cutlery. This is something the management should address however I'm giving this a 5* anyway because after the staffing issues were finished this place had some of the best gastro pub food I've had in years. It's honestly one of the finest sunday roasts from a pub I've ever had and I highly recommend anyone interested in a solid meal tries this place out.
Can’t go wrong with the steak (rare) or the Sunday dinner. Both are fantastic and the portions are not small. More toast with the terrine would be handy though… Last time we visited we were served by Molly, she was so friendly and cheerful, it really brightened our day… Thank you!
