Visited on a Monday and ate three courses from the lunchtime menu. The staff were friendly and the range of drinks was good. The food was great value and the sticky toffee pudding was great to finish the meal. Three courses and a pint for under £20.
Lovely pub. Staff were so pleasant and helpful. Food was well presented and tasted delicious. Prices were very reasonable.
Tops for me as it's spacious, lovely & warm with coal fires burning. I used to go here back in the 80s with parents for a sizzler steak 🥩 remember those? Took my sister last Saturday & we had chicken 🐔 wings with chips, half a fruit cider each, went down a treat. Nice atmospheric not overcrowded pub. Will definitely come again.
Didn't eat just visited this charming space for a drink and chat. Sat on the roof terrace with the fire escapes from other buildings and felt that I was somewhere like New York. Thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon.
with most large pub chains, your expectations are varied, but must say the couple of guys behind the bar that served us/waited on us were really professional, friendly and their attention to detail was very much appreciated - the food for all of our table was perfectly acceptable (my steak was actually cooked rare as ordered, which is a plus compared to other pub meals where they tend to cook medium to be on safe side). In summary nice pub, decent food and excellent service - plan to return
Customer service was great and food was tasty
You could do with more staff so wait with reduce .
Part from waiting it is a great pub with perfect pint .
Brilliant pub! lots of booze and beautiful customers. the Balsamic glaze on the salad was delightful. if I can remember the way I'll definitely be back (I have schizo haha)
Meet friends here quite often. Food good. Staff efficient and friendly. Menu choice good with offers in the lunch and evening menus. Definitely recommend.
After plenty of searching for a good pub, we eventually came across the green man (on 09.02.22). The entire visit from start to finish was fantastic.
On arrival, we parked next door where you can get free parking if you are guests to the pub (just pop your registration in the terminal at the bar when ordering). So this was a nice added plus, not having to scurry around for change for parking.
When we entered, staff were welcoming and friendly. We were served straight away, and ordered drinks while we decided what food to order (I had a Coors, and my partner a Stowford Press - both were fresh and crisp!)
We sat in a lovely corner of the pub whikst flicking through the menu and admiring the beautiful decor (wooden beams, warm lighting, fantastic and quirky artwork). There was plenty to choose from on the menu, all priced very reasonably. As a pescetarian, there was a whole menu for veggie options for me to choose from (and some fishy options too from the main menu) whilst my partner opted for the fixed price menu. For starters we shared the salt & pepper calamari and the Parsley breaded mushrooms - both were lovely with delicious accompanying dips and the portioning was fantastic! Once we finished the staff were on the ball and cleared our plates ready for the mains. I opted for the Vegetarian Toad in the Hole - 3 delicious veggie sausages (really tasty!) ontop of a bed of mashed potato stuffed inside of a huge Yorkshire pudding and a side of veggies. Very nice! My partner had the Gammon & Chips and he was extatic! The first time we've managed to find somewhere that offers both pineapple and egg with the gammon, which was a lovely surprise for him. Also the cut of gammon is immense! Really thick and he said it tasted amazing.
Overall the service was outstanding, the food insanely delicious, the vibe was very cosy and homely. We really can't wait to visit again!
