Ordered a veggie plate. Macaroni was the best. Black eyed peas were too thick but ok. It was fulfilling

This place serves left overs, dry and bland. The chicken I had was smelly and every was heated up in microwave. Only thing good about here is that people are nice

I stumbled across this amazing restaurant yesterday and I am so happy that I did! The menu has a great variety and the food is true southern cooking! One bite and you get the nostalgic feeling of being back at Grandma's.
The customer service was great and I felt right at home! I can't believe I am just now finding out about this establishment! I will definitely be back.

While the people are friendly, the food is over cooked and bland. The first time that I Went, the food was excellent. I have since visited 2 more times and was not impressed. I don't know if they changed cooks or what. I ordered apple dumplings which were burned on the inside caked with gooey syrup. The mac and cheese was overcooked. The lasagna was super bitter. The fried green tomatoes were caked in oil. I really hope the staff and owners read this. This restaurant has potential due to the different variety of menu choices, but the cooks need to do a better job. Not worth the trip or money.

The employee was friendly but the food was slop and sucks.my corn bread crumble in my hands and plate, stuffing was bland and not good, turnip greens had awful taste, baked chicken leg quarter was so so. Mac and cheese was not good.,tea never did get iced cold while I was drinking it,never did get my lemons I ask for,for the tea . so my first impression done it for me. Husband order fried chicken he finally got it after sitting there 45 minutes of waiting,so he said make it to go because that was to long,so the vegetables he was eating is cold about now for waiting, they gave his chicken to a well known customer. SHE, WE gets home, chicken was so big,he threw all 3 wings away, and whole plate, never will eat there again 34dollars wasted. And was not worth it. I will not recommend it to nobody.

It's the kind of food that tastes like if someone else cooked it, it'd taste different. What I mean is, I feel like any reasonable person could work in the kitchen at Cracker Barrel. The food at Apple Dumpling Bar is better than Cracker Barrel, in my opinion, but it also has character, or something. Like, even day-to-day things might change a little. The meatloaf might be better today than tomorrow...in a good way. Legit "meat and three" cooking.

I saw a coupon for this restaurant in a booklet I picked up in another business. I looked it up on Yelp and saw photos of the menu. My mom is a sucker for good home cooking, so we decided to make a stop here for lunch after a morning of shopping.
Upon entering, there were two ladies seated enjoying their food. Others were in line ordering. There was baked chicken, meatloaf, fried fish and fried chicken to choose from. There was a plethora of veggies to select, from fresh cut collards, to sweet candied yams, to golden macaroni and cheese.
My mom and I both chose meatloaf as our entree. She opted for two sides of greens; I selected macaroni and dressing. I must say I was quite impressed with my food. Everything was delicious and seasoned just like the woman in front of me (my mom) would've done it. Mac and cheese is something I love, and this place did not disappoint me. It was just like I like it- cheesy, tender without being mushy and plate-scraping good! Mom raved about how fresh the greens were and how the meatloaf didn't even need any extra sauce.
My pound cake was homemade and decent. Mom opted for the fresh cut, chilled watermelon. The customer service was stellar. The guy who rung us up was more than accommodating to us. To top a great experience off, there was soft jazz music playing that created a soothing ambience to enjoy a meal that was obviously created with love and soul.
Try them out. Your taste buds will thank me later!

I have only been to this place once, but from what i can tell the service is good and the food is too. I plan to visit again and try other items on the menu. The prices are a little high in my opinion and you don't get any cornbread or rolls with your meal. I tried the meatloaf, collard greens, and mac and cheese. Definitely have to go back and try the grilled chicken, yams, sweet tea, and apple dumpling.
