Jimbo's Soda Fountain

I’ve been here over the years many times. The food is solid diner type food (plus some surprisingly tasty Mexican options!), the lady at the counter is always really nice, and it’s worth the trip for me. Feels sort of nostalgic. But I was appalled at the state of the place the last time I visited. From the multiple random door mats scattered all over the sidewalk outside, to the empty ice cream freezer (I was told it’s been out of service for two weeks- and it was the main reason I brought my girls in unfortunately), to the horrible state of the booths. I get it that a booth tears and you fix it or replace it at some point. But the many, many tears on so many booths with gobs of duct tape on them seems to BE the fix for this restaurant. The tape has multiple layers, even in different colors! I love supporting small businesses and they have the nicest people there, but I honestly felt DIRTY sitting on these booths—so we just left without ordering. The restaurant really needs to replace the seating outright. Seems they’ve gotten WAY more than their fair share of use.
