I love this place.
Lovely food, very friendly staff and ponies, ponies, ponies!
What more could you want?
Unfortunately, it seems that the lease on this pub/restaurant is up and the venue closes on 17/10/2021.
Hopefully a new buyer can be found because this is a really lovely location and venue. OK, it's not cheap, but on a beautiful summer's day, sitting outside, overlooking the fields and horses...your cold beer tastes extra special.
I had the pleasure of chatting with the farm and business owner's son, who was really welcoming and informative.
By the way, on the last night before closing, they are having music and food...I believe it's ticket only? I'll try to get my name down.
Highly recommended.
Five of us visited for the Sunday carvery lunch. Two were vegetarians and chose the leek tarts, which they said were excellent.
Two of us had the pork and one the turkey, we chose the medium size which was very generous.
The selection of vegetable was good, nice to see red cabbage making an appearance.
We were to full to have a dessert, but the menu looked enticing.
The price was very reasonable. The staff very helpful and friendly.
We will definitely visit again.
Spacious cool and airy dining area. ( A few unseasonal room decorations need to be put away.) Friendly and attentive staff provided excellent service appropriate to our needs. Delicious carvery meal. The stuffing was nicely meaty. Good selection of sauces, including plenty of gravy. Well described and interesting dessert selection.
Had a great sunday carvery date.... guy had the carvery which for a large was so huge he probably had the meat sweats I had the burger....cant fault it....great find good service .mind its next to stables so if u are sensitive to smells could put u off. . I am but made no difference to me. Oh the brownie was pretty good too
Amazing food best fish, steak and skinny fries we have had for a long time, also chocolate brownie is a must. Amazing friendly service, loved watching the riding lessons going on. Will be returning very soon.
Lovely venue
Watching horses and ponies was wonderful.
Unfortunately my husband's Guinness was terribly
He did mention this to barman but he seemed very uninteresting, he did not offer my husband another a beer.
The carver was very friendly and we had plenty of food
Definitely go again.
Always a good experience here, food is great, unique setting, friendly staff and usually easy to get in at short notice especially if only two of you. Chef is always happy and willing to give you a free French lesson at the same time 👍
Very good, please try. Hard to find, as signage is a bit weird and sat nav no help with post code and don't be put off by the strange drive down a dirt track to the farm/stables car park, as it is well worth it. Staff were great, welcoming, friendly and helpful and the food was lovely, although a little pricey, but I don't mind this when it is as nice as this and there was plenty off it too. I will definitely be back again, if in the area and can find it again!
I recently celebrated my 60th here with 60 guests. Staff were so polite and helpful right from the initial booking enquiry through to the end of the actual day. Food, wine and champers were great and we even managed to squeeze in some horse riding for the kids before leaving - brilliant!
We had a Sunday roast here a few weeks before. This too was superb so I would definitely recommend if you like country style dining and partying.
